Save Test Cricket

ICC just need to relax a bit re trying to get Tests to last five days for the $$$ and look more at producing a good contest between bat and ball. Put a bit more in it for the bowlers, make 100s worth 100 and not equivalent to 50s in years gone by. Let the runfests happen in T20 and in half the ODIs, but variety is the spice of life and having the same patterns over and over become boring. That is why I think T20 will burn itself out, there is not enough scope for games to be different and rain affected T20 is a joke, it can't be anything else because 20 overs is near enough rock bottom number of overs

Test cricket will not die as long as there are true fans of the game are still around. Its my favorite format. We have had such wonderful test matches through the last couple of years and if anything, test cricket has got a lot more spicier thanks to aggressive batting.

TBF, I say that T20's have made Test Matches more interesting!
Check out the test matches since ICC World T20, 2007.

Many matches from then on were last day thrillers.
A team chasing about 250-300 in final one and half days. That makes test cricket interesting! And Kolkata test against South Africa was a epic match!

Indian bowlers were tested for about one and half hour for that final wicket.

These type of test matches frequency has been grown only because of T20!

So, T20 made test cricket popular IMO!

And the problem is with 50 over cricket! 50 over cricket has become crap IMO!
Many are not bothering about it!

I agree with Shane Warne. Conduct a 50 over World cup for every 4 years, limit 50 over cricket to only domestic and international matches should be only in T20's and tests!

I disagree with spud in some respects, I wouldn't limit ODIs to domestic cricket and World Cups, I'd have more tournaments rather than 5-7 match series of little consequence. Maybe have four team competitions take place every summer/winter, three groups of four with the winners going through to a triangular "final". And perhaps more importantly the ICC shouldn't forget the newer full sides and the other countries, cricket does need exposure and should not be "elitist" in ignoring the minnows. I'm sure the minnows enjoyed their exploits at the ICC T20, but surely they need to have more exposure and playing weaker countries in big competitions will only help.

T20 is going to be a short-lived fad, people will tire of it. Limit THAT to domestic cricket and a competition every four years and ffs ITV, buy the rights to the ICC T20 and not the IPL, who in this country gives a feck about a load of places in India and their fanatical fans?!?!? Worst case scenario televise our domestic T20, the IPL is over-rated as it is without you jumping on the bandwagon - and it was tedious, I watched less than 24 hours worth of it, mainly thanks to them prioritising ads over cricket and that ridiculous tactical timeout twaddle
