About 7 Months ago I was playing a game of cricket, the field was a letter wet and the pitch was sort of duey, it was sort of raining lightly at the time. Anyways I'm a fast bowler i'm 17 and probaly bowl at around 125km, when I got to the bowling crease I loaded up and when my front leg hit the ground it kind of skidded forward, about 10cm and my knee locked in. My leg stayed perfectly straight and did not bend like it is suppose to and my femur, which is the biggest bone in your body, it's your thigh bone well it snapped in half. It made a horrible crack nosie and people from the other team heard it from about 90m away.

Anyways I can't remember much about it the ambulance rushed out and the paramedics started to fill me with morphine, I remember waking up in hospital with a very saw leg and doctors and nurses all around me. Apparently accordin to the doctors the femur is almost impossible to brake, it can hold up to 800 times your own body weight. So it's been 7 months and i'm just started to jog again, i've done abit of batting practice but I have no balance and my leg hurts from the hip down, when I bat that is. It's because of the rods and pins. In about four months the doctors reakon I can have the rod taken out, but that means I will miss almost another season, making it around a year out of cricket. Can anybody here tell me if they have ever heard of a worse cricket injury then this, nobody I have talked to has ever heard of anything this bad. Or if anybody has ever heard of someone braking there femur while playing cricket and how long they were out for.

Thanks

There's a thread about this already.

But that sucks man, I've never had any injuries besides twisted ankles ect from bowling on slpiiery pitches

dude it sad to hear but you shouldnt have played on wet outfield rainy cuz theres a chance of injury but no one thinks about it when u r on the field same with me. all i had was a twisted ankle which gets good in 2days

wow man thats a bad injury, sorry to hear how unlucky you were with that, i've never had a serious injury been hit in the head once or twice when not wearing a helmet and twisted the odd ankle but have never heard of a cricketing injury so terrible as this
