I'd take a 75 year old Warnie passing away with a quiet funeral. Thank you.
I can't really believe it even now. Warnie for mine was a very relatable bloke. No pretence. I feel like I lost someone I knew.
Last few days I've been consoling myself saying he lived more in those 52 years than most of us would if we lived 70 year old lives twice. Warnie was not the kind to dwindle away in the sunset. He would go in a blaze of glory and leave some of us gobsmacked. Gobsmacked we are. Heaven will be a much much better place now. The gods must be having a few cold ones with the great man while he narrates one of the many batters he made to look stup!d.
