Should Bangladesh be allowed to play test cricket?

You are forgetting the fact that Sri Lanka were performing really well in the ODIs. They had an excellednt 1992 WC by their standards at that time.

Sides like Australia and England dont wanna play Bangla any more. Also, India has not even invited Bangla for a tour since the Tigers got their Test status in 2000 !

Its a potential loss of revenue for all channels of the ICC,maybe not for the BCB.

If Bangla continue playing like this,it wont be long before the record books bear XXXX against Bangladesh in the top 10 rows.

The best option would be a two-tier system
Have all the 8 test nations in one pool and let them play on a home and away basis.
After every two years,the ICC could promote a nation from the 2nd tier to the first depending upon its performance.

No way. Bangladesh should have their test status. You cannot judge the present teams with their past. Bangladesh are seriously improving side by every match they play. But on the other hand, I'm backing up Zimbabwe, They should get a test status now. That'll not only improve the financial status of their board. But will attract much more talent Zimbabwe has.

But by far the test status for bangladesh is fine. But ICC needs to re-build it's teams promotion system though.

The most disappointing thing about Bangladeshi cricket is that it continues to flounder at the bottom of rankings despite the terrific support they have from their fans. Cricket is no less popular in Bangladesh than in India or Pakistan. Dropping Bangladesh as a Test nation would really hurt the morale of young cricketers there, as also disillusion the cricket loving public which would be really disappointing. So I guess they should be given a little more time, at least until 2012. But Bangladesh really need to improve. There's no point on just playing for the sake of participation. Got to start drawing, winning matches, initially the ODIs, then Tests.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe should not play Test cricket. They should play in a 2nd league with Kenya etc, and maybe Australia A's England A's etc or under 21 squads from each nation. Then teams get relegated/promoted at the end of every 2 years (The A sides and/or Under 21 sides cannot be promoted)
