Should KP come to India, then what?!!

Hmm, he abandons England after abandoning South Africa. He then goes on to play in the money-grabbing IPL and then play for India and you claim he won't have to deal with politics not to mention his national team will be governed by the most controversial board in world cricket...

Basically what I meant was that the Indian team is quite different in it's ethos from that of England. We have great individual performers, but thus far I don't know of any modern day player wielding the kind of influence that say a KP or Freddie or Vaughan wields in the England team. So I guess playing for India, KP wouldn't think of doing what he did to the ECB.

As for the BCCI being controversial, well I agree, but then show me a cricket board which isn't.

Had he been in Indian team he would have been in ad shoots ratgher than speaking against coach or board.

Erm, there are Indians who call Sachin, God. If that isn't influence I don't know what is

If Sachin issued an ultimatum to the BCCI, he would lose, and slowly be forced out. The BCCI would make the media make him look like a villain. Look what happened to Ganguly...

Well there's a reason why they call him God, and not misusing his star status is one of those reasons. And if India's best doesn't do it, guess what happens to someone like Yuvraj if he does!! An if an Indian player does do something like this, rest assured he'll lose support with the people rather quickly.

KP will be the first player for all of the top 6 test playing nation(bar saffas)...England, Aus, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and NZ!

LOL! I for one certainly wouldn't mind really! His personality might not be the most endearing, but as long as he keeps scoring ton after ton, I give a damn where he comes from. Once he hits a slump though, we can conveniently remind everyone that the fella is not Indian and needs to get his mojo back in SA, or maybe England, or Australia, or Timbuktu!

Did you know Stuart Clark could play for India if he wanted. He was an anglo-indian as his parents lived in India and had british links or something.

Haha what?

KP is nowhere near Sachin in terms of following.

KP is a big barrel of ego. Indians would reject him. Like they rejected Sreesanth.

Both his parents were Indian citizens. They moved to Australia after he was born.

Of course not mate! But I don't think he's the same as Sreesanth. Sreesanth was all show no go. And a bad show at that. KP can have his ego, as long as he keeps scoring.

So it's not like football where Croatia cap one of the top U-17 Australian players and never hear of them again?

So your saying you can have 99 caps for your country and move horse?

..Look, I'll make this dead simple. As you said mukund, if really, by your imagination, KP loves Indian cricket and wants to have a place in the indian side. Well, The indian citizenship is not so easy to gain. He needs to stay/reside 12 years in india to become a fully indian citizen.

But that's just a happy thought. Nothing more than that, it's not happening. :noway..
