Gusy i read sohail got sacked and Wasim Bari is the new head

go to www.rediff.com/cricket to get details....i dont really believe this until cricinfo has it because rediff said has lied before

example...after the world cup they said anwar calls his retirement even though he didnt make it offical.... and hten this july/august he retired

i dont think he was sacked. He chose to resign.

I think you got it correct. They forced him. I think General Tauqir did not want to resign but I think he was forced to do it because the thing that happened in first ODI NZL tour of Pak series. And few days before there was some problem with the Under-19 squad of Pak. Most of the players were relatives of the PCB offcials and surely Amir Sohail to blame there. I think because the thing that happened in the selection of U-19 sqaud forced Amir Sohail to resign and I say they did nothing wrong there. But I also think Bari hasn't been successful selector. Anyway I hope they select Waqar and Afridi for the Indian Series.

Afridi can't be selected coz he's playing Firstclass in SA.

Waqar won't be selected coz there are plenty of younger fast bowlers around.

Remember the cheif select is now Bari not Amir so he might call Afridi from SA and give a final series to Waqar Younis. We need some good bowlers and Waqar is one of them.

B) waqar is a good bowler ,if he is selected it will only do good for the pakistan team .
but there r other problems haunting the pcb.i dont think they will call him back . ^_^

Its the South African season and Afridi is on contract, so he can't leave.

I'm hearing that Waqar and Saqqi may make a comeback. It was suggested on cricinfo.

The PCB may call him as they did with Shoaib Akhtar when he playing for playing for Durham.

waqar would be good for this series and finalyl waqar should step up and leave...this is a big series and much expierence is needed as possible...this series is more than rebuilding..they r going to have to put that on hold...both teams know losing or even drawing is not a option...

i think thisis the series where saqy makes his comeback he and muli are the only two spinners that have troubled india in tests(saqy took 4 consceutive 5 wicket hauls in INDIA!!!)

that was way back in 1999. Saqy is by no means the same bowler as he was back then.

I'am not surprised that Sohail was sacked (espicially after that drinking inccident, where he violated his Muslim traditions).....

I don't think Sohail was much of a selector, and belongs more in the commentary box (if at all)....

B) report:

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan?s new selection committee may recall experienced stars Waqar Younis, Shahid Afridi and Saqlain Mushtaq for the upcoming cricket series against India beginning in March.
Bari had spoken to his fellow selectors Iqbal Qasim, Ehteshamuddin and Sultan Rana and also the Pakistan captain and coach and exchanged views with them on the selection process for the series.

?I can say for sure at this stage that we will be having the preliminary selection process with an open mind and seniors like Waqar Younis, Rashid Latif, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shahid Afridi are definitely under consideration for the India series,? Bari said. Bari said he wanted to basically adopt a horses for courses policy for the Indian series.
