why does this happen ? is there a virus ?

Its a compression thing that occurs with some files that Windows (XP, in your case) does. If you want the text to go back to normal there is another way. Well sort of;

Tools --> Folder Options --> View Tab --> "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color"

If it's checked, compressed files are blue and encrypted are green. Otherwise, it's all normal - its neither a virus nor is it a problem. So don't stress yourself out.

I m currently having 160GB HDD and I want to upgrade it but I wanted to know which option is better

(1) 2 HDDs (probably current 160GB + 320GB) or (2) Single 500GB ? and also Seagate vs Westen Digital ?

Why don't you just buy a 500gb one and make it 160+500 ?
the 2nd option seems useless to me.
Personally, I prefer Seagate over WD.

Guys please i need help for my internet i know Abhas told me the solution but i am absolute new to these stuff. Whenever i download something from net it stops and doesn't continue please help me. Please tell steps briefly. :)

Try doing the following steps..
On the network icon in the taskbar, (the 2 computers that blink), click on status.
Now, click on Properties.
In the window that opens, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and click on Properties.
in the DNS settings, Select "Use the following DNS Server addresses..
in the first field, enter this DNS : 203.0.178.191
Click OK
Click OK
Click Close.

Now try.

Also, Tell me what Windows are you using, and how are you connecting to the internet.

When i try to do what you have told internet pages don't work. Mean it gets stuck and i cannot move to other pages or cannot go back.

I am using Window Xp and i am connecting to the internet with help of Mozilla because when i connect from Internet Explore i keep of getting messages of runtime error or send error report or not.

I tried both DNS servers but now Mozilla FIrefox is crashing but before crashing it gives run-time error.

Mmm, I would suggest it is a hardware problem: do you have a number of conenctors at the back or is it usb connection or what??? Have you tried plugging it in to different connections??? Does the mouse itself need a battery?????

it needs connectors at the back,it is not of battery....

actually it is very old one,the ball one(about 5 years old)....
but it works properly if at restart it is working....
today,i will try to attach someone else's mouse and see what happens, but my intention is still pricking me that it is carbon accumulation

Yeah check if the other mouse works well then it must be your old mouse: carbon accumalation....never heard of that...but then again I am no techie!!

One question When you buy Windows 7(any version except starter edition) you get both 32-bit & 64-bit discs ?
