South Africa's tour of India - October/December 2015

I think its fair to say that was the worst dismissal of Amla's career. Has to be. Leaving a ball crashing into middle stump.

Remember him getting out to a couple of awkward dismissals at Jo`burg against India. The first was a middle stump leave against Ishant. In the second innings he ducked onto a Shami delivery and got bowled.

Brilliant captaincy for Kohli, ex: The way he started with spinners, brought Mishra to get AB & introduced Varun to get Elgar. Fabulous stuff from Kohli & co.

I`m pleasantly surprised by the control shown by Yadav and Aaron in this test. They have not bowled all that much but even then have shown a lot of control and not leaked runs. Ideally, as someone else said, they should be India`s pace bowling regulars along with Ishant maybe. We will need more seam bowling on other tracks. Bangalore usually has true wickets and we can`t expect spinners to shoulder all the load on better batting tracks.

Varun has impressed me a great deal. He always had pace, but his line and length control has come up in leaps and bounds.

Meanwhile this is an interesting tweet to read from someone who has more than just an average fans knowledge about these things.

Who Amla, are u kididng. Have you forgotten his never ending 253* on the previous SA tour to India.
I had, but that's besides my point, I was just calling back to the pass/excuse people gave him for his atrocious form in our last tour to SA.

Looked up that innings you mentioned, nearly 6 years ago, time flies. 2010 was definitely "his" year.

I know this track is helping the spinners and there is no question about that, however, most of the batsmen have just gotten out to straight deliveries.

I never once said de Villiers was overated, just that he is overpraised. I have no problem seeing him score runs but when people talk about him like he is Don Bradman and Chris Gayle mixed together I get annoyed. The Philander statement was a joke, would never put him in the side...[DOUBLEPOST=1446713304][/DOUBLEPOST]Well Dean Elgar has done a Kraigg Brathwaite, Why isnt Tahir bowling now? 3 overs seems rather little for our best spinner...

Well, I have not seen a batsman do the sort of things de Villiers does so he is praise worthy. He IS the Bradman of his generation and I don't even put him in the same bracket as Chris Gayle. It's an insult to de Villiers talent.

We've definitely got a psychological edge over their batters now.[DOUBLEPOST=1446887994][/DOUBLEPOST]Why was Rahane not at slip... :rolleyes

On the subject of this test match-

I am one of Ashwin's harshest critics and I have never liked him at all, but I really feel he's the best spinner in the world. I don't like the taste of humble pie but he's made me eat my words. His attitude still leaves plenty to be desired. Very arrogant chap.

I think India should drop Dhawan. I just don't see the point of his selection. Also, it's unbelievable how inconsistent Umesh Yadav is. I can't see him being selected above Aaron. Personally, I'd open with Puj and Vijay with Rohit @ 6.

Just like to add that the commentary this test was good. Manjerekar made lot of sense which was a massive surprise.

South African point of view? Atrocious team selection. Atrocious.

Now Umesh impressing with the ball.

For all the spin and wickets for Ashwin & Co., I`ve enjoyed the pacers the most. Both Yadav and Aaron have impressed here. The pace through the air is more valuable than Ishant on these tracks, I dare say. Sadly, we will look at figures and say they did`nt bowl well. Yadav should`ve had 2 wickets here in these 2 overs, the LBW and the drop by Dhawan.

I hope that drop from Dhawan does`nt come back to haunt us. Steyn and Rabada can both bat. We are hardly in an invincible position. Van Zyl is looking dangerous now. One more wicket to the pacers please.
