I got bored so I downloaded Firefox Version 2

Giggity Giggity uninstalled Mozilla Firefox as he couldn't get to PlanetCricket for some reason.

And I uninstalled it.

What happened, so you couldn't reach Planet Cricket with Firefox?

No, I meant, why couldn't you reach Planet Cricket with Firefox? What appeared on screen? From experience, AOL is the worst internet service provider available.

I got an error. I've been using AOL for years and it's fine.

I echo the words about how crap AOL is. I luckily dont have to use the software on the laptop, but on the main PC we do and its forever crashing and messing up, dc-ing etc.

yes but there is a woman who says you've got mail. It makes you thinkyou've got friends.

Anyway Firefox is good. Much better than my IE but thats more to do with the other idiots who use my PC.

The web would be a much better place without Internet Explorer. Firefox and Opera are both pretty good but I prefer Firefox mainly because of the add-ons.

Unless they drop the stupid new location bar I'm not upgrading. I don't want to search through the titles of the web pages, I like typing the first letter of the url in and then pressing down to select the site, it is how I've always done things, why change it. There is an extension to change it back (here), but I don't see the need to install it to get back to where I was in an older version. Edit: On further reading it only changes the appearance, the behaviour is the same even with that extension, which doesn't help me.

Also the new default skin is a step backwards. I know that can be changed as well, but why fix something that wasn't broken?

Frankly I can't understand all the IE hate in this thread. I use both IE and FF and with the release of IE 7, I really don't find that much of a difference with FF2. IE7 has fixed the major security holes in the previous version, and has added tabbed browsing. The only area where firefox [at least the second version] continues to shine over IE is the add-on's. I download plenty of them but somehow don't really use them that much for some reason.

Add to it the fact that some older websites STILL load better on IE than on firefox, which just means that IE renders a greater number of pages better than firefox, continues to be a plus point for the former.
