Indian fast bowler Sreesanth has been given a final warning by the BCCI that he will be suspended from domestic cricket if he violates the code of conduct again.

Sreesanth, who has had disciplinary issues in domestic and international cricket, was recently fined 60% of his Irani Cup match fees for using offensive language against Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni.

Following the incident, the BCCI sent a letter to the Kerala Cricket Association secretary TC Mathews issuing the warning to Sreesanth. "You are hereby given a final warning to ensure that you do not violate the BCCI Code of Conduct. Any repetition of such behavior will be dealt with severely by the BCCI including suspension from domestic cricket matches."

Allan Donald, the former South African fast bowler, recently said Sreesanth needed to change his habits if he still wanted to play for India.

Sreesanth has already been in the dock in the past for his publicised spat with Harbhajan Singh during the IPL and various other run-ins with opposition and umpires. During this Irani Cup, apart from his stand-off with Kulkarni, he was also involved in an exchange of words with Ramesh Powar.

Both were seen taunting each other but Sreesanth later said it was just a friendly joust with his IPL team-mate and that neither of them crossed the line.

Sreesanth:facepalm

Harbhajan needs to set him straight with another little slap.

Rather than ban he should be locked in Big Boss with Jaya Sawant.

Feel sorry for the guy. He should have been from Australia. He would have been praised for playing the game hard and fair. I remember a certain big moustache fella from Australia (never seen him, heard about him!) who loves using all the abusive words in the planet on the opposition batsmen.

Dutchad is from New Zealand.

He is also only person to meet Osama and was on his plane back when people in Moscow reported seeing UFO.

The BCCI can go jump off a bridge. The guy was quoted as being a 'little kitten' off the field. Give him a break, dammit. Stop stemming the passion of the first fiery fast bowler we have ever produced. He's a wicket taker, he's got the ability to lift the team, and will bowl his heart out for his country. He's willing to pay the stupid little fines then that's his problem.

Then on the other hand we have the board sucking up to Harbhajan, the guy who's slapped Sreesanth for no reason, slapped a random camera man, has been alleged as a racist (even if it wasn't it was a very, very bad term that he said he used), and he finds his place in the XI even though he sucks. We have about 5 spinners in India who are better bowlers, can perform better overseas, unlike Harbhajan.

I hate this. North vs South politics to the greatest extent.

Damn right Rohit. I already despise Harbhajan as it is and I actually quite like Sreesanth. Much rather see bowlers getting in batsmens face on the field and putting their heart in to it, rather then what Harbhajan does which is basically just act like a knob. Then again, if India want to shoot themselves in the foot, so be it ;)

I agree with this. Though I do not agree with your analysis of Harbhajan, the bowler, I feel that if a guy like Harbhajan can be in the team, Sreesanth needs to be a permanent fixture.

Oh how I miss the firey Sreesanth in the International arena. On the punishments depends what he said, if its a personal abuse then fair enough, if it was a little banter or a few swear words then the BCCI need to harden up.
