It is incredibly sad for SL to lose 4 frontline bowlers on day 3 of the very first test. We really need to talk about substitutes in cricket, not just for concussion. If a player is injured during the match and cricket being an individual team sport meaning everyone is important, we need to allow substitutes. We can have some set criteria so a team cannot misuse it but we need to move forward as years go and not backward.

Kusal Mendis has to be one of the biggest disappointments in recent cricketing history. Still has plenty of time to get it right but a player of his talent should be doing a lot more.

I fully agree with having substitutes in cricket, especially in Tests. It's definitely not a majority opinion though
