Having just watched the last hour or so of Day 5 in the WI vs PAK test, I have to say I can't wait to get this patch on console to try and replicate the pure drama of test cricket!

It is much improved. But like I said in a previous post I'm still get a heap of batpads involving batsman smashing onto their pad.My leggie took 14 wickets in a match and I would say 80% were the above. Is this because I'm playing it on medium difficulty? Or do I need to start a new career.

So here's my second attempt at bowling to West Indies. This time with default sliders on Veteran difficulty:

A slightly more admirable effort but the main difference is the manner of the dismissals, mostly genuine edges instead of suicidal slashes out to cover/point.

Observations:

-Still too many bat-pad smashes off pace bowlers, I probably would have got them out for a bit less if I'd had a silly mid-on for the entire innings. Didn't get a single one off the spinner though so that's something.
-The AI still plays too many lofted shots for my liking, although this time they were much better placed. I'd prefer if the AI was able to hit boundaries while keeping the ball on the ground.
-A lot of starts and then getting out. More testing required but possible the AI needs a confidence boost after they've got in. Could also just be Windies syndrome...

Ultimately a much more enjoyable effort from the AI even though they still didn't make a great score. I'm not too concerned about it considering last time Windies played in Aus they made over 300 only once in 5 innings. The real test comes now as I'm going to switch teams and bowl at the Australians, so we'll really get to see what the AI is about.

Alright I've had enough. I'm fully into the cricket-withdrawal stage of the year. I need to play some form of cricket game. Come on Big Ant. Upload the PS4 version to mediafire and give me instructions to install it. It's been fun watching everyone enjoy it but I might start playing shudders Cricket Captain if this patch doesn't come soon

I was feeling the same way so I started playing again but put fielding to manual and are getting the best games I have ever had since release give it a try it will scratch that itch till patch 4 drops

Just before I go to bed, forgot to ask something in my previous post: Does anyone involved with development know if reverse-swing is modeled in the game? I've not seen it mentioned anywhere but it definitely felt like after around 60 overs, Starc and Hazlewood were getting the ball to move around sharply (you can even notice this in the last few wickets of the video). My imagination? Or possibly just the result of using fresh bowlers after the tea break? @MattW any idea?

I can certainly attest to the fact that it's present. If not from the very beginning then it has been added recently. It's amazing to watch and bowl of course. I have actually shot a small video where Bhuvneshwar Kumar does it consistently. I'll post it at some point.

So, this may seem like a bit of a copout post but there are 133 pages here that I don't have time to read.

Very simple question:

For those who thought that the game was not fun before patch 4, do you think it is fun now?

This is me and yeah it's almost like a different game when all the annoying stuff that took away from the experience is gone.

I've noted a possible bug with the dynamic lineups. Specifically if you finish a match, move onto the next match in your career that you're selected for and then exit the game when you return you've been dropped from the team. More then that the game doesn't tell you until you're in the game proper and the lineups are shown. So you end up simulating the T20 by pressing X. Interestingly though you still get the fee as if you played.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Ok , I think I grasp it now , so what your saying is on your PC beta version , they are mostly gone .

Ive known him for years as one of the Top Online players , so took his assessment as the lone official feedback on my points.

Very strange indeed.

One possibility (in relation to your overthrow issue) is that blocker may not be experiencing it and chaman could be because of..... setting certain fields (either custom or preset - most likely custom). Some fields seem to result in overthrows more commonly and I'd imagine it'd mostly be custom ones. Even if there are players backing up from the other side.

The fact that people are using different fields (some just stick to preset), might be masking the issue so as it could be under-reported. It may have less to do with online/offline and more to do with field sets. That's just a guess though.

Now that 5-7 patches have been released for pc , it's high time to get one for console... consoles users can't be just observing the thread and get criticisms from everywhere saying that when you don't play the patch should not comment on the game etc etc ...

As far I am observing this thread since last 3-4 days the requests are never ending (including my self) , if everything to be accumulated and then only final build to be released then I would say it's unfair for consoles, in this case no surprises we may need to wait for 1 more month (don't forget console guys purchased games 1 month earlier than pc guys).

My suggestion is to release this 5-7 patches as one build for console , till then we will play and enjoy for a month or so , then what ever remaining can be released after a month.

Who knows what bugs may come in consoles since it's different platform form pc , whatever Testing going on is just on pc I suppose.

Big Ant, Please release the build with this 5-7 patches for consoles.

Even though I have pc version too I still like to play on my PS4 pro which is atleast 10 times better than my PC.

Sheer joy to have such realistic test scorecard

Veteran +hardest batting & hardest bowling
Playing casual as India vs Pak, on dry soft pitch , won the toss & chose to bowl...
bowled them out within 300 (realistic possibility on a dry soft turning track)

It was a sheer unmatched joy to watch the sharp leg & off cutters, beating the batsman & even edges to slips & in the gap between slips & gully towards the boundaries,,, simply wow

Some observations

* Did get several edges & bat pads (even dropped a few in semi assissted fielding as the slow mo of the catching was out of the weird fielding camera angle, so then switched back to fully assissted fielding)

* Did observe the slow gradual wearing of the track while the day progressed & kept rotating the bowling with Ashwin & Jadeja & the pacers... to try & take advantage (if the game actually has it in effect) of the rough created by the bowlers footmarks near the batsman...

* the random reset of fielding happenned several times, even when I did try to keep both silly mid off & short leg, the field editor stubbornly refused to set it & randomely placed the fielder elsewhere... I hope it gets resolved asap...

* I tried tweaking the gameplay modifiers in game while batting as India, but I cudnt see any effect in game...Is it that they cannot be changed during the game , but only in the main settings on the 1st page of the game??? @blockerdave @Spoobir if you can throw some light on this...

I think that is what they would be planning...considering the time it takes for patches on consoles to be approved sometimes. Everything in the patches covered in the PC version would be matched for the console version.

my point is they need not have to match with pc and put everything in one go for consoles they can split into two different releases .whn ever they release the build final they can match that time with pc .

you need to select custom difficulty for batting or bowling whichever one you want to modify in the match start scene.
