Which is the strongest department of SRH this season ?

It’s not new for SRH. We don’t have a wicket keeper to bank upon, as I don’t see them playing Goswami (even though he has tons of experience) as he can never match the quality of wicket keeping of Saha.

Or we could get someone (probably Naman Ojha again) in the mid season break.
Possible replacements -
  • CM Gautam
  • Eklavya Dwivedi
  • Shahzad Mohommadi (can solve the explosive opening problem too)
  • Naman Ojha
  • Vishnu Vinod (did good for RCB)

Naman is in DD. Saha is an excellent keeper, but hasn't scored anything in 8 matches, which is worrying for SRH.

I think this season SRH have been able to cover all options in the bowling department, and our middle order looks a bit more settled with the inclusion of Vijay Shankar. The form of the SRH bowlers is a bit of a worry. Khaleel Ahmed can often be expensive, Kaul hasn't been at his best ever since the end of the IPL. Bhuvi doesn't seem as penetrative as he was before his injury last year. Hopefully, all that can be put aside.

Some smart picks overall, Bairstow was a very good choice for an overseas wicketkeeper. A T20 specialist like Shahbaz Nadeem could complement Rashid Khan well. Think a seam-bowling allrounder would've been useful such as Carlos Brathwaite, allowing more flexibility to play both Rashid and Nadeem. Looking at the first game, I think SRH should go with this:

Warner
Bairstow
Pandey
Shankar
Shakib
Hooda
Yusuf
Rashid
Bhuvi
Kaul
Sandeep

Something tells me that Warner is going to struggle to score runs quickly in the first few games so I'd play Bairstow at the top rather than Goswami.

Delhi must be knocking themselves on their head as to how they let go of Vijay Shankar. And Vijay Shankar did a good job last season for Delhi with some really useful knocks. I remember that knock he played against CSK where he almost won the game from an impossible position. And now that he is coming off a massive confidence surge after a successful India stint, watch out for him. If Shankar and Yusuf play together, SRH's middle order is fixed.

I would be really surprised if SRH do not make another final, and maybe even win it this time. This team is like clockwork - perfectly put together.

One of the reasons I think Kane would not leave during IPL midway is that David and Kane has mutual respect for each other.
This might be just be a PR picture.

Looks like Zomato is sponsoring us this season.

Missing two more pacers to put a full XI of pacers. We can plug the hole with a keeper and somebody.

Vishnu Vinod WK.
Abdul Samad preferred because retained.
Sean Abbott OS.
Marco Jansen OS.
Bhuvi.
Romario Shepard OS.
Umran Malik.
Karthik Tyagi.
T Natarajan.
Fazalhaq Farooqi OS.
Saurabh Dubey.

Maybe Bhuvi can lead.

Shows how poorly planned their auction strategy was.

They always have been staunch followers of
"Batters wins matches, Bowlers wins tournaments".
We always do this, this time we went a bit overboard. Most of our all-rounders are more of bowlers who can salvage a few balls and maybe on a good day hit them nicely.
