T20 has messed up our cricket- Clive Lloyd

Clive Lloyd as most if not all of us know led one of the most dominant teams the game of cricket has ever seen, he was the first man to lift the world cup trophy in 1975. Regarded as one of the best captains ever in sports, a highly regarded and respected individual in the cricketing world even after his retirement, former ICC match referee and chairman of various ICC sub committees, we certainly need to take heed of the great man.

Clive Lloyd has said that West Indies cricket has been "messed up" by the T20 format, creating a situation where playing Tests for the country did not seem to be a paramount goal for players

Interestingly enough I see this across the globe for the other countries, has happened with WI first and eventually it will be the same for the other countries, inclusive of England and Australia. Whilst the Aussie players for example are paid highly for test matches eventually they will be paid more for T20 matches as they are already receiving.

I agree that the ICC must be stronger. It should be like the FIFA or the IOC [International Olympic Committee] - very strong in the things they do. FIFA said when you kick the ball back to the goalkeeper he has got to kick it out. I don't see Italy and England and France saying we are not playing. We have one team playing without DRS. If we have something it has got to be globally done. Everybody has got to work together.- Lloyd

We can't have three countries ruling cricket. It can't be done. It comes back to money. I hope one day everything will come back to normal. I think the ICC should be running cricket-Lloyd.

Of late I have been thinking aloud that the ECB and CA are worse than the BCCI. Nevertheless we need the ICC to run cricket not the BCCI as the emperor and the CA and ECB ministers ruling over the subjects like SA, NZ, etc!

Been following cricket since the 1st standard I dont want to see test cricket completely annihilated, its already suffering, ODI cricket is taking a severe hit also, T20 is not cricket!

One things for sure in my opinion, if you remove t20 cricket now it will practically kill the game overall (in particular at domestic level).
