I posted this on two pro evo forums and got no response, looks like the popularity of Pes 2008 is as popular as Genital Herpes.

I am on my third season about 10 games in. Changed most of the first x11 from the starting squad now.

I am trying to build a team full of English players.

Surprising players that are better than i thought, Lescott, Reo Cooker and Jerome. Lescott has turned into a solid, pacey defender with high body balanced. He has surpassed his development sheet and is still improving. Not sure how this is possible but still, the same with Jerome and he keeps getting better despite already past his peak at 22.

I have been trying and failing to sign peter crouch to link up with becks ever since the first season to no avail. However my team pop is nearly at A so i may be able to sign him in the transfer window.

Picked up Gary Neville on a free after he was released by man utd.

Now, I'm well known for my liking of Fifa, but I think PES 2008 (on PS3) is a decent game. I tend to play both in tandem, but I have more fun with my Newcastle game on PES. I've had many great games and scored many great goals on it. My finest ever would be beating Man Utd 1-0 at St James' Park in the League Cup after losing to them 4-0 in the league a while before. So, PES 2008 isn't as bad as some are making out and from me that's saying something.

On that Newcastle game I play 4-3-3 usually. A solid back four to stop the goals going on at our end, 3 in midfield to help out at the back and supply the strikers through the middle and 3 strikers, 1 central and 2 out wide. I find have Michael Owen central and Damien Duff & Obafemi Martins out wide works wonders.

Anyone with decent pace and dribbling attributes is a good bet. Body balance is also one of the most important factors in being able to hold off challenges or tackles.

I suppose I best post something remotely on topic then, here's what I pla ywith united
VDS, Evra, Rio, Vida, Nev,
then in the centre I have Hargreaves deep and Anderson attacking, Nani on the left, Ronaldo as a wing forward, it's not as balanced that way but you have to get the best out of him, and Rooney as a CF whilst Tevez is a SS.

Even though Rooneys best position is SS I feel he plays much better as a CF, with England I have him playing just off Abonglahor but httas because I try and play a side I imagine we'll be playing in 2010.

I play 4-4-3 since theres no need for the keeper since they suck and besides when im vsing the CPU they got 12 players on the pitch.

Was that supposed to be an Attempt at a joke?

Usually (I have PES 2007), and I try to get people with pace in the team, and got with the 4-3-3, and try to get the lead by half time. If i don't then I try to attack a bit more by sending one midfielder up and bringing the 2 strikers to a bit more defensive position and having a solid Center Forward to clean anything up. After I get a slight lead, I go 4-4-2 Diamond.
