The difference is that Lara and Tendulkar have mostly only managed statistical achievements, while Inzi was a key part of a team that found a fair bit of success, including a World Cup. I think Tendulkar would ditch a lot of records to have thrashed Australia in 2003. I'd definitely say Inzamam was a player you could describe as a talisman and even though I've seen heaps more of Tendulkar, it is hard to say he often rallies his team or inspires a win. It isn't worth going any further as it is a completely silly comparison, the only reason it has come about is because of where they are from.

Best post on the subject so far. Sachin has obviously accomplished a lot more than Inzamam in many ways, which is why I voted for Sachin myself, but that doesn't change the fact that in certain situations I'll always feel more comfortable with an Inzamam at bat rather than a Sachin.

No, actually, when it comes to non Indian-Pakistani fans, the score is about 18-7 in favour of Sachin. Try looking up the facts before spouting your mouth ;).

Yeah obviously most people voted for him just because of the name and success he got or may be because he is compared to Don bradman or Lara.

but we need to know who is a better player in the situation when the team needs you, we dont only need players who can only score a hundred in the first innings and score a 10-20 in the 2nd innings when the team is following by or facing a target.

Tendulkar averages 40 in his team's 2nd innings, with 9 hundreds. That's far more than the "10-20" that you mentioned. Seriously Khalek, leave the arguing to zMario, he knows what he's talking about.....

The best way to compare a player is considering the time when the team need his performance... Sorry but i can say that Tendulkar fails most of the time...

Yes exactly he has become a choker in the past years, he only performs for the sake of his career stats

I agree that his performance is down in recent years but you also can't ignore the severe injuries he has to face in recent times...

Injuries is not an excuse, Amiya. What is actually the problem? when his groin gets fine, his elbow hurts when his elbow gets fine his whole body hurts. Oh God he is only in his age of 30s and it looks like he's gonna die when he plays 1 or 2 matches

He is not even fit to play, he is making the team lose by playing with his unfit body

Oh well, at least Sachin doesn't cheat and ball tamper

If anyone takes this seriously go and find a noose as you obviously have no sense of humour

Personally, I've always felt 99 is the same as a hundred. I don't see what the big deal is. It's just for personal satisfaction. But in the end of the day, it's only one run. Not that big a deal. Everyone knows that, it's just that they feel let down.
