The captain, Andy Balbirnie continued his consistent run, and this time, does not become a liability to the Lightning, as he made 83 runs from 86 balls, guiding the team to 326 in the all important match.

Winning the toss and batting first on this flat deck, the Lightning openers' Jonny Bairstow and Rohit Sharna batted in the way they are known for, making 134 runs in 109 balls, before Bairstow got out. Rohit Sharma played a great innings of 72 almost at run a ball.

However, Nick Larkin struggled to rotate the strike as he made 45 from 64 balls, before finding himself short while completing a run. Lightning wouldn't have been able to reach 326, if it were not for Gareth Delany's late hitting fiesta.

For the Warriors, Simi Singh was the only bowler who stopped the flow of runs as he conceded only 39 runs in 10 overs.

Fielding changes matches, and that is what happened here. Jos Buttler was going belligerent as he had already made 45 runs from just 28 balls, with 7 boundaries and a six, with Warriors requiring runs at about 9 runs an over. The form he was in, it would have been curtains for the Lightning easily. It took something a special bit of fielding from Rashid Khan to stop him. After his runout, Simi Singh tried his bit, but couldn't finish it for the Warriors.

Quinton de Kock and Kane Williamson batted beautifully, as they both hit centuries in the 180 run partnership for the second wicket. When they were batting, it looked like the match would be gone, but some tight bowling from Barry McCarthy and Rashid Khan made sure Leinster reached the finals.

Similar to the last match, the Knights bowled exceptionally well in the first innings, restricting the Reds to just 212. Once again, it was Kagiso Rabada who wreaked havoc during the innings, taking 4 wickets including both the Reds star batsmen, Babar Azam and Ross Taylor, much before they could start scoring freely.

At 46/4, it seemed like the Reds would struggle to reach 200, but Joe Root and Greg Thompson dug deep and batted extremely well for a partnership of 143. Joe Root in particular, really took the attack back to the Knights' bowlers as he played at just over a run a ball, for his innings of 81, hitting 9 boundaries and 3 maximums in the progress.

After Root fell, there was no real resistance from the Reds as they crumbled from 189/5 to 212 all out. Tyrone Kane was another hero for Knights, in the bowling department, as he took 3 wickets at an economy of just 3.22.

The Knights need 213 runs to stay alive in the competition. While they have the batting to do so easily, we have seen them falter under pressure in previous matches. With a strong six bowler attack, Munster can make it difficult for them to win this.

The Knights choked! They choked! A collective bowling effort from the Reds' bowlers, stops them in their tracks. Ollie Newton started with early wickets as the Knights were reduced to 21/2, and later 40/4 courtesy Trent Boult and Greame McCarter.

However, the biggest fear of any bowlers while bowling in the second innings of an ODI, Virat Kohli was still standing, and he was looking in no trouble at all. But he was in need of a partner who could stand at the other end and support him, and he found one in Shane Getkate.... until Babar Azam showed some great fielding and ran him out.

Still Virat could have turned the match any time if he stayed at the crease. In came,
Joshua Little. He struck with the biggest wicket of them all, Virat Kohli, pinning him lbw, just when he had completed his fifty. While after him, Graham Hume, Tyrone Kane and Kagiso Rabada, did give some scares to the bowlers, they couldn't bat long enough to take the Knights to a win.
