One pain out, another comes to bat. The pain for England never ending.
Saw something this morning suggesting they were rested this game so they can play in every other game. I think it'd be better if one was rested this game and the other in Sydney, but I can sort of see the logic of 'two day night tests, plus boxing day and new year's are all conditions where the veterans are necessary'I don't think you start a series by resting both of your best bowlers. Broad has been injured so that might be a factor for holding him back, he might not be fit enough for back to back matches. There's a pink ball test four days after this one which I assume is why Anderson is not selected - although there were rumours initially he was injured.
I think you need to set the ball rolling though and come out of the blocks with your best XI though. England have been planning for this series to be one where they unleash Archer, Wood and maybe Stone. Unfortunately there's only Wood still standing. I don't think they feel comfortable playing Leach with both Anderson and Broad because that is quite a long tail.

Doing your Head in is he?The one time I don't pick T.Head in my FC team
Watch on YouTube Channel of Australia. They usually have short highlights of 6-8 mins which is a bit of a disadvantage, but it covers mostly everything that's important.Hate that SonyLiv wants my mobile number even if I wish to watch highlights of the day.
