The Ashes 2021/22

Curse in disguise for England, Bairstow making a hundred.

I do have a horrible feeling though. If Joe Root steps down as captain, Jonny Bairstow is suddenly one of very few guaranteed selections in this side.

Side-thought, Haseeb Hameed will be lucky to average 20 this year for Notts. His game is absolutely cooked.

Since his last century (in 2018) he's average 21.32 in 19 matches. He shouldn't be near the squad. But fair play to him he'll play 150 test now.

What you talking about? The Bolton Bradman can bat all day.

"languid persuader of a cricket ball" he can only persuade it to get him out right now

The thing with Bairstow everyone (except the Channel 7 commentators) forget is he averages nearly 15 higher with the gloves than without them.

If Ben Foakes fails...

Regardless, his keeping costs 15 runs a game compared to Foakes. His outfielding also probably gains 15 runs a game - he's an excellent fielder

Jack Leach should open. Technique far superior to Crawley or Burns
Shit, the way that team is batting. You and I open with Waste coming in at 3 and Rudi coming at 4 would do a better job.

Can I bat five?

Honest opinion this series:

Burns > Crawley > Hameed

I really feel for Hameed, it's like they're trying to break him
