He is actually rated worse than Head, Burns & Wade yet has outperformed them (The only way it could have been fixed is by resetting the stats as soon as he got his 1st Hundred but that would be wrong)
That was a top class show by the bowlers to hand us the win . The English team gave us tough competition throughout the series and here too , with just few runs shy ...
Our 4 bowlers have been the stars in this tourney . They toiled very hard I must say , even bowling long overs .......
James Anderson
Jofra Archer
Ollie Robinson
Stuart Broad
Jack Leach
Quite happy with the squad, which I picked after assessing each player's recent form, record against and in Australia and impact.
Haseeb Hameed, owing to a better county season and series against India, gets the nod ahead of Crawley and Sibley for that second opening position. He also has some valuable experience down under with the national youth team so that will come in handy.
Dawid Malan was a no-brainer for me as he was the top run getter for England in their last Ashes series in Australia. Picking James Vince is definitely a gamble as he hasn't played for the Test side in three years, but then again he was one of the best English batsmen when England last toured Australia.
I was a little hesitant to pick Jofra Archer as he hasn't played a lot of cricket of late, but then he's one of the best modern-day bowlers when fit and boasts an average of 20 against the Aussies.
Moeen Ali would’ve been an automatic selection had he not retired as he would’ve provided me with another spin option in the side but I still think I've covered all the bases with this squad.
