Australia 8/359 (hedger_14 180*, cricket22 3-44) v England
Hedger_14 scored an amazing 180 not out on day 1 of the first Test
Hedger_14 has scored an unbeaten 180 on day one of the first Test at Cardiff. Under sunny skies, Australia were off to a good start, winning the toss and batting.
Hedger_14 put on a show for the crowd they are unlikely to forget anytime soon. He smashed 26 fours in a day of brutal batting, without getting dropped once, without even having an LBW shot against him, or hitting a catchable shot. He only played and missed 2 times in the whole day.
The rest of the team failed to perform and support him. OffCutters and Hooper contributed handy 35's, making partnerships with hedger_14, but neither going past their starts and converting into 50s and above.
Australia were on the road to a massive score at the tea break, nicely positioned at 4/240, before a mini collapse in the last session had them at 8/359 at the end of play. Cricket22 and adityacricketer were the pick of the bowlers for England, taking 3-44 and 3-84 respectively.
After the match, hedger_14 caught up with the press. "I think I batted perfect today. It was a dream. I didn't do anything wrong, my concentration was at its fullest, I put the bad balls away, I kept the good balls out, all with ease. The ball is looking like a beach ball at the moment, not a little 156g red thing. Hopefully tomorrow I can go out and score my first double century, it would be such a thrill."
Join us tomorrow to see if hedger_14 can make his double century, with support from the tail. England will almost definitely be batting tomorrow, giving them a chance to stamp their authority on the series. With rain predicted, if Australia can get over 400, this match could well be a draw.

Australia 372 (hedger_14 182, adityacricketer 4/90) & 0/43 v England 191 (Adityacricketer 35, Feelin Blue? 4/53)
Feelin Blue? took 4/53 on day 2 at Cardiff to bowl the hosts out for 191
Feelin Blue? has made a big first impression on the ashes, taking the English team from 1/58 to all out for 191, with an inspirational 4/53 on a reasonably good batting wicket.
Adityacricketer stamped his authority on the game for England again, after taking 4 wickets with the ball, he top scored from number 9 with 35, as a stand between him and cricket22, then just_cricket, nearly took England past the 200 mark and beyond.
Feelin Blue? combined with other opening bowler biggy09 (3/53), skillex_x (1/24), Hooper (1/18) and Amiya (1/41) to rattle the England bowling line up in only 64.2, embarrassing for the home team. Captain Jakester1288 took 2 catches, while being brilliant in the field, keeper gutterman taking 3 catches, 2 off biggy09 and one of Hooper.
Australia started their 2nd innings late in the night, and openers hedger_14 (29 not out) and pelican102 (12 not out) managed to keep their wicket, and score 43 runs from 15 overs of play. With 3 full days of cricket remaining, and no rain forecast, Australia should be looking to bat out today at least, and amass a huge lead. At the moment the lead is 224, if England?s first innings, including the pitch wearing, is anything to go by, Australia may well have enough already. But if England?s top order can step up, they are capable of scoring 400+, if their guns fire.
We caught up with Feelin Blue? after the days play. ?Mate, I bowled as good as ever today. The English batting line up is by no means weak, but I must say, the way the team bowled and fielded, not just me, we could have rolled any attack for under 200. I?m proud of the boys, hopefully we can knock off plenty of runs tomorrow, without me having to contribute, then come out and roll them for a big win to go 1 up in the Ashes! Carn boys.?
Join us tomorrow to see how Australia fare, how England react to the pressure, whether they can step up with the ball, and more! Tomorrow, right here, on Cricinfo.

Hah, talking it up to the press. The English batting line-up is piss weak.
