Wenger: 'Fabregas is not for sale'
__________________________________________________
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that Cesc Fabregas is not for sell, after there were rumours that Manchester United wanted to buy the Spaniard.
Manchester United were reported to be interested in the 22 year old Spanish international, and would cough up £60million to prize him away from the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger acted angrily to these reports, stating 'Fabregas is not for sale at any price'.
"Cesc (Fabregas) is a fantastic player and is a big part of our team. I am not going to let him go, especially not to a big rival in the Premier League. I don't care how much they will pay, it's not about the money. I have no intention of selling Cesc, and I'm sure he want's to stay anyway."
Wenger went on to talk about Arsenal's chances for next season. "We had a superb year in 2008, but we were very poor last season. The whole club was disappointed. The players know they need to perform better this year. The fans deserve a lot more than what we gave them last year. The fans are the heart of any club, and they are the ones who pay week in week out to watch us.
I have no doubts we will improve on last season. Our targets have to be high, and I think winning the title is not out of our reach. It's not just about the big players, the Fabregas', the Adebayor's, the Gallas'. It's about playing as a team, and everyone playing well together. If we can do that, we will be up the top again this season."
Arsenal play their last game on their tour of Italy against Treviso, before heading back to London for the second leg of their EURO Vase tie with Galatasaray.
