2010 Bowling Stats :
Steyn - Average = 21.41 , SR = 39.0
Z Khan - Average = 21.97, SR = 39.8
Amir - Average = 22.33, SR = 45.7
Anderson - Average = 22.96, SR = 48.7
Swann - Average = 25.96, SR = 54.0

I didn't know those stats till I just looked em up. Zaheer's figures are simply stunning given that he's played on flat subcontinent wickets against some top sides this year. Given the pressure on him to perform , and his importance to India I'd say he's been the best bowler of 2010. Arguably...Steyn may also have a say about that.

Best batsman, well the top performers have been Sachin, Sehwag, Trott, Cook, Amla, Kallis. These are the batsmen who've scored over 1000 runs this year.

Sachin - 14 Matches, 1562 , Average = 78.10
Sehwag - 14 Matches, 1422, Average = 61.82, SR = 90
Trott - 14 Matches, 1325, Average = 66.25
Cook - 14 Matches, 1287, Average = 58.50
Amla - 11 Matches, 1249, Average = 78.06
Kallis - 11 Matches, 1198, Average = 79.86

Sehwag's failed in South Africa so I don't think he can lay a claim. Trott and Cook have been excellent in Australia, but Cook failed in England against quality bowling.

Overall, I think it's between Sachin, Amla and Kallis averagewise. Since Sachin scored more, cough *and since there's a tiny bit of bias as I really enjoy watching him* cough, I'd have to give it to Tendulkar.

Best team - I'd say England. Whooped the Aussies, yay !

This seem about right here.

Off my head without checking much stats. I wonder what a test XI for 2010 would look like. Something like:

Sehwag
Cook/Smith/Strauss
Amla/Trott/Sangakkara
Tendulkar
Kallis
De Villiers
Prior/Dhoni
Swann
Steyn
Khan
Aamir/Morkel/Asif

I'd be tempted to play McCullum as keeper, even though he only kept in the first half of the year. 6 innings as the keeper he scored 388 runs @ 77.6 with two centuries and a half century, and for all his tests this year, he has 758 runs from 6 matches @ 75.8 with 3 centuries including a double.

----------

Oh and that's more runs than Dhoni scored in 13 matches/19 innings, and Prior in 14/20

Ye fair point. McCullum was peaking as keeper bat just before he gave up the gloves one can say.

I had to just check what Tamim did this year in tests, since i forgot what he did. So yea i guess he did enough to be considered, not sure whether id pick yet. Have to eventually go through some stats, since as i said i did pick my team just now basically off my head.
