Hello everyone and welcome back to Kandy, Sri Lanka for the 2nd Innings of the 5th and final test between Royal Ramblers and Counter Warriors. The match so far has went this way... Counter Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. Counter Warriors declared their innings at 388/5. In reply to it Royal Ramblers scored 333/3 before the Royal Ramblers captain decided to declare. Counter Warriors will come to bat with a lead of 55 runs...
The Counter Warriors openers were shaky in the 1st innings and a lot was expected from them this time around and they didn't disappoint. Paulnixon1 and Ashwin started off well. They were cautious at the start and were happy defending and leaving the balls outside the off stump. They played some nice shots and added 99 runs for the opening wicket. They were looking good until Handsome struck and dismissed Paulnixon1 for 40 runs. Tarzan and Ashwin continued batting well. Ashwin played some glorious strokes and completed his half century. The partnership was looking good at 31 runs when Ashwin fell. He was bowled by Xuzuno for 68 runs. Wildwil came in next but couldn't hold on longer and was dismissed for only 1 run. In came Ledzep. Tarzan was well set and was looking good. He continued his good form from the 1st innings and scored half century. Ledzep at the other end was going good aswell. Ledzep too reached his half century and the Counter Warriors captain decided to declare on 256/3 setting up a target of 312 for the Royal Ramblers. Tarzan remained unbeaten on 83 whereas Ledzep was 52 not out.
The Royal Ramblers openers are out at the crease. They knew they had to post a solid start for their team to ease the pressure off the batsmen to follow and make the target achieveable. Both the openers were cautious and looking good. Viral and Shubhrayu both rotated the strike well. They didn't go for any silly shots and added 102 runs for the opening wicket. They were looking good and well in control when they decided on a quick single but Viral fell short of the crease and was dismissed on 38. In the very same over the other opener Shubhrayu who was batting brilliantly on 58 was dismissed by sanjogmaiti. The Royal Ramblers were 102/2. Both the bastmen at the crease were new to the crease. They had a target to chase but had to play themselves in aswell. Karachi Xpress and Giggity are attacking batsmen but the situation forced them to play against their natural game. Karachi Xpress was uncomfortable defending and finally lost his wicket after scoring 12 runs. In came ansariaamir_leo who was being experimented at no. 5 but he too couldn't last long. He was dismissed on 1 by iloveireland. Scion Sid too couldn't last long and lost his wicket after hitting a glorious boundary. The Royal Ramblers were struggling at 151/5 and the fall seemed like never ending. Xuzuno seemed to be getting in touch with Giggity. It seemed as if finally they are stable but Xuzuno fell. Shalin_hitter played some good shots and helped
Giggity with the struggle to save the game for the Royal Ramblers. But he too couldn't last long and in a bad mix up lost his wicket. The biggest blow to Royal Ramblers came when Giggity was dismissed. He was the last recognized batsman and with his fall ended the hopes of Royal Ramblers of saving the match. Giggity played brilliantly for his 62 but just couldn't save the match for his team. He seemed disappointed. The tail wagged a bit but could do much and the Royal Ramblers were bowled out for 249.
For his brilliant performance with the bat in both innings, Tarzan was declared "Man of the Match".
Victory for Counter Warriors. Finally a result. Counter Warriors have won the Test Series 1-0. What an end to a dramatic series. I'm sure the ODI Series is gonna be fun. With the teams of this calibre going head to head, entertainment is guaranteed. Thats all from this test series. Tune in again on 31st July for the 1st ODI between these two teams.
