There are no irresistible forces and no immovable objects.

What is the best way to draw a diagram of Newton's first law of motion. Having trouble thinking of something.

This should be easy :p

haha. I asked my parents and my mum told me an example of the third law as well. The first law is the law of inertia. Anyway, I've got a diagram.

1. Let's hypotheticly say that you are travelling at the speed of light in your car. What will happen if you turn your headlights on?

2. Why is ice clear and snow white? :help:help:help

According to the special theory of relativity time is not a absolute quantity. It is relative to speed. If you move at speed of light or almost the speed of light, then time would slow down extremely for you. to an outside observer you would be moving at the speed of light, thus would appear as just a flash for a sec. But inside car, time would slow down to such an extent that you would see light trickling out of the headlights in all directions. And the world around you would appear to be in slow motion..

Another interesting fact i forgot to mention is that if you were able to sustain car at speed of light for a long period of time, several years may have passed normally but the car and all inside it traveling at that same speed will have aged mere seconds. This way one can possibly travel in the future inside a matter of minutes. Get your car upto the speed of light and you got a time machine at your service :p

AP, is it because time is inversely proportional to frequency?

2. Why is ice clear and snow white?

It has to be something related to crystal structure of ice or maybe that snow has large amount of ice molecules grouped together...I really don't know.

I bet you can't come back. :p That makes it a half-time machine.;)

Yeah... You can't come back.. thats the bitch.. So if the future is doomed by alien invasion and nuclear war.. You are stuck there :p

What are the equations to prove that forward time travel is actually possible?

Also, to go back in time, what would the equations be? Is it actually possible, or just ridiculously improbable?

I think Time Dilation theory has better chances than making somthing to travel at the speed of light. Wiki it and you would understand. If you can find the t.v series "Sci.Fi.Science.Physics.of.The.Impossible" Get its season 1. In its episode 6, famous physicist Dr. Michio Kaku explains all the possible ways of time travel. He uses 3D drawings and CGI to explain, so you can understand it better that way.

Its a really nice series giving scientific theories on impossible(Superhero, parallel universe, force field, lightsaber, Blowing up a planet etc) . Each episode is of 25 minutes and they are absorbing...:yes

Just saw the "Universe Exploration" episode of Physics of Impossible. It left me with a feeling of insignificance :noway

Jeez, We are so insignificant if you take whole universe into account :p

This should explain everything with required equation. Time dilation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Still i suggest getting that episode of tv series coz you have to be really creative to imagine all this in your mind. Here are 4 dimension involved. Generally in a 3 dimensional figure 4th dimension is constant(that is time) but here time is relative.
