So the time had come. Madam Hooch had to host the first Captain try-outs of the year. Due to the fact that there were not enough Hufflepuffians on the Quidditch team, seemed to surprise Madam Hooch. She always thought that Hufflepuff, and Revenclaw (The other team that had less members) were very popular amongst the students. Hufflepuff was where she was from, so she always loved it. Madam Hooch used to think that she was in one of the greatest houses, but apparently, not everyone did. Madam Hooch walked towards the Quidditch pitch with a quill and parchment in her hand. She was really excited to get try-outs going and choose the new team captains.

When she finally reached the Quidditch pitch she set down her parchment and quill and took her broom in her right hand. She was excited to host the try-outs and couldn't wait for students to begin coming. Madam Hooch had looked at what she needed. Everyone. She needed to get four Captains. Madam Hooch looked at the ground and stood there for a moment, waiting. She looked to her side and saw the old suitcase with all of the Quidditch equipment inside. Such as the Quaffle and Bludgers and beloved snitch. Excitement filled her now,even she was hosting try out for more then 70 years in Hogwarts but still she was as excited as a young girl.

Madam Hooch moved around the Quidditch pitch examining the proceedings,she always wanted Quidditch to be a fair game.

With the passage of time ground started filling up with Quidditch players from all the houses.Those who were not selected or from 1st year(as most of the 1st year students were not selected) were also filling up the spectator's seats.It was known to all,whether players or spectators that try-outs were always as interested as a Quidditch match.

Madam Hooch hold his Silver Arrow and sat on it.She moved a bit up in the air and there he was flying and inspecting the ground for one last time,as she finished,she came to the middle of pitch about 20 feet above the ground or may be a bit more and said,

"I want fair try-outs from all of you,you all are equally talented and here's reason,you all are selected to represent your house in this year Quidditch season. There are some of you who have leading abilities and their leadership can be lethal to the house and my duty is to find those talented captains from you all.You all know the rules and also that each and every player will have to perform some tasks whether grouped or single to show that he or she is the right contender to be a captain.I am here for almost a century and you can expect no favoritism from me."

After that she took a round turn and with his loud voice said,

"I officially start 2010 Quidditch captain's try-outs."

Chapter 1:Gryffindor's Quest For a New Captain​

It was a tradition in Hogwarts,Gryffindor always started such try-outs,so how they can restrain from it this time.All new boys and girls were ready to take part in this try-out and wanted to lead their team for the first time.

A light breeze blew across the pitch, swaying the recently cut grass. The clouds traveling slowly across the light blue sky, and the sun was at its zenith keeping the pitch in its comfortable warm glow. A perfect day for Quidditch thought Covvy as he walked out onto the field, in his house color robes and his broom held in his hand. Covvy took a moment to take a deep breath of the fresh air; it was good to get out once in awhile and enjoy a good flight. Quidditch was nothing new to Covvy, he would have tried out last year as a beater, but didn't able to get the Captain's post, so he kept on practicing in his free time all this Christmas vacations. He finally found out that it was the Chaser position which best suited him. His 6 foot frame gave him the power and the reach to send the Quaffle through any of the three goal hoops, which he hoped would surprise a few of the opponents who weren't paying enough attention.

He finally noticed the Madam Hooch across the pitch and walked on over to her. He never really met the flying teacher, since he already knew how to fly pretty well. He was a bit nervous, as he got closer to her. "Hello, I believe this is where you would sign up as a captain for the Gryffindor team? I'm Covvy,Covvy Hilfenhaus, I would like to sign up."

Madam Hooch gave him a group a task, he would have to collectively assault a goal against Madam Hooch,who was acting as a keeper.He was already nervous but confident(not over confident).

"Yes,Madam I am ready",said Covvy in a low but confident tone.

Covvy sat on his Swiftstick,a broom which was tradition throughout Covvy's family.His father,who was also a brave chaser used to have Swiftstick and so was his grandfather.

Try-out started,Covvy took the Quaffle and passing it to his team mates.He was moving swiftly but calmly through the air, the acting opposition were trying to stop him as they were also in the walk of captaincy.

Finally after lots of tackles he reached very closely to one of the hoop and it was the most precious time for him as well as for his post captaincy,He had to dotch Madam Hooch to score one of the most interesting goal of his life.Lifting the Quaffle in his one hand,lots of thing were going on through his mind.
"What must be the right way to beat Madam Hooch?",He thought.

At last he through the ball towards the top hoop,hoping to beat Madam hooch.Quaffle was traveling fiercely as he was a powerful boy.Madam Hooch jumped into the air to stop the Quaffle but was late and here it was,Covvy had completed his task.He had scored a goal.

Covvy had never played against Madam Hooch and it was one of the most interesting incident of his life.
"Yupi I have done it,yes,yes I have done it",He said as he wasn't expecting to beat Madam Hooch.

He was breathing fastly as he slowly and gradually moved towards the ground,his eyes was on the Madam Hooch's point book as she was noting down the points.

After reaching back to ground,Covvy sat silently on one of the player's seat.You can expect nervousness and some what a little boring too.

"Can I be captain this time?",he whispered to himself.

He was closely watching his team mates who all were working hard to get to the post of captain.One by one each and every Gryffindor player gave his try-outs.

At last the time came,for which Covvy was eagerly waiting.This was the result time,Madam Hooch had to announce the 2010 Gryffindor's Captain.As she was going to announce,Covvy's Heart beat was increasing and increasing.

"I am very pleased to announce 2010 Gryffindor's Captain and its none other then Mr. Covvy Hilfenhaus,he got 91 points out hundred.

Congratulation Covvy",as Madam Hooch shook hands with Covvy.

Covvy was pleasantly amazed on the result he was very nervous at the start of the day and now he had been the captain of Gryffindor what a contrast it was. He was more happy then he was when he got the admission letter for Hogwarts.
Covvy stood as still as a statue as he watched the last ray of the sun dipping below the horizon. It was a beautiful sight to watch and he was amazed by the fact that he will be captaining his side in the upcoming match against their rivals Slytherin. These small joys were what that could revolutionize him. A small smile appeared on his face as he turned and began walking back towards the castle, absentmindedly twirling his wand in his fingers.
