Chapter 2:Slytherin, Who will lead us?

After Selection of captain in Gryffindor House, it was Slytherin's turn on the next morning. All night, players from this house was dreaming to be captain of their team but in reality only one can stand out as 2010 Slytherin Quidditch Captain.

It was a tradition cum history of this house that most of the time beaters went to captain this house but their may be a twist in history.

A bright sunny day came to Hogwarts, everybody was ready to give his or her best to get this owner. Arrangements were made again like they were for Gryffindor except few changes of flags. Every body was excited and was practicing hard.

Zoraxis was a 4th year student at Hogwarts, he wasn't a pure blooded so he always thought that it's chances is very less to be Slytherin's captain. He was a damn good Quidditch player and was selected to team in his 2nd year and was best beater of the year too.

Since we know everybody has heart which urge them to put their name in all sort of puzzles so Zoraxis also did the same and was participating in this Try outs.

But not everyone wants him to be in this try outs,

" You Mugglian, try to snatch captaincy of Slytherin, How you put your name?", said Draco Malfoy.

" Hogwarts give me right to enter, so why not I..., You are not the founder of Slytherin or Hogwarts nor your family is", said Zoraxis sharply.

" I'll see you how you will be able to give your try outs, you bloody morons", said Malfoy.

Zoraxis once thought to give a pleasant answer but then he thought why not shut his mouth with my performance.

It was about 10 am sharp in Hogwarts,every thing was nicely set and here the tryouts started.

First came, Varun Harishan a 5th year student. He gave his try out which was catching Snitch in 10 min, not a easy thing to do in a bright shiny morning because Snitches love to fly in such atmosphere.
Same thing happened, Varun didn't able to catch it within 10mins rather it took him 4 hrs to do due to which he could only get 55 points, not exactly up to Varun's mark.

Second was, Brendon Hedger, a cool Australian born but pure blooded little magician. He was in his 3rd year but was as good as players in their 5th or 6th year.
His job was to Keep the Hoops and didn't allow madam Hooch to score a single goal in a 30 min match. Quite a difficult task but Brendon was confident. So his task started at start it looked very comfortable for him but soon he started loosing his stamina but was able to keep goal tally to only two goals, little disappointed but that's happen in sports. 82 points for Brendon Hedger.

Third was Jamie Lyons, a very bright magician but equally good in sports. He was in his 4th year and got twice best student of Slytherin and once best student of Hogwarts too. Madam Hooch found out that he too have Quidditch germs in it so advice him to play Quidditch last year. He was a courageous flyer and was appointed as chaser in his first Quidditch match but since then he is permanent team member of Slytherin team.
This time Madam Hooch ask him, Callum Gray and Rahul to play a one hr match, Points will be awarded according to scores.

Callum was a 6th year boy, poor in studies but brilliant in sports especially Quidditch and Magical Rugby. He started his Quidditch career when he was in his 2nd year, last year he was also selected to play Under -19 Quidditch World Cup as a New Zealand team member.

While Rahul was a very sharp and mischievous child, he was the only one in this team who play Quidditch only for fun, it was his 2nd year as a Quidditch player so not many awards under his belt but was certainly a good acid to team.

So the match started and in first minute Callum strikes with a great goal. but soon both Jamie and Rahul equalize it and at the end of the match scores were like that,
Callum - 7 goals - 91 Points
Jamie - 6 goals - 87 Points
Rahul - 3 goals - 75 Points


Now the try outs were left only for beaters, as I already told you about Zoraxis Nostradamus so only left is,

Graeme Mellor, the most senior player in Slytherin lineup. He was in his 7th year and was having 4 year experience of Quidditch.

Both of them were given a common task and it was that "Score maximum goals with your Bludger in 20mins and other will keep the hoop only using his bludger and vice versa.

So the task started, first Mellor came on attack and Zoraxis was on defending.
Mellor played pretty well and score 6 goals but Zoraxis also did well to save two three very good goals.
Then came Zoraxis, in the first minute he scored twice but then next 16 minutes were barren for him, some great keeping by Mellor but there come Zoraxis, He scored 7 goals in next 3 minutes and beat Mellor handsomely.
Both gets,
Zoraxis - 96 Points
Mellor - 90 Points

So Points were telling the story, it was Zoraxis Nostradamus who was selected as Slytherin team captain, first Muggle blooded player to achieve this height.

His face was telling his joy, he was very happy and why not. It was a big occasion for him.....
