The Reintegration Thread

I think it the KP case you've got to look at his career overall. He's gotta be doing something wrong ; Notts, Hants, England and potentially Surrey (only time will tell if they actually re-sign him or let him go elsewhere).

I don't think he'd be anyone's first choice of companion for a walking tour of the Lake District, but it doesn't change the fact his treatment by the ECB has been disgraceful over the course of many years.[DOUBLEPOST=1413019843][/DOUBLEPOST]P.s @barmyarmy has kindly published an article I wrote on the shenanigans PlanetCricket - Your home for Cricket Games and Discussion » IF THEY’D JUST DROPPED HIM, WE’D HAVE BEEN SPARED ALL THIS MESS

What treatment? He was told he was sacked and it should've ended there. He's the one who's brought out a whole book over it.

So if your boss told you, you were sacked cos he didn't like you you'd have no issue with it? Even if you'd been the top employee?

If my boss told me I was sacked because I was causing a negative atmosphere with my ego and unliked by some of my colleagues I would be.

now let me put a spin on it your boss said you were fired for work reasons though he wont specify them. then also report all the company losses in that fiscal year was due to you and so getting rid of you in public to others while having you under a contract gag so you dont throw a tantrum as you leave the office.

I also know KP is self indulgent than it is likable, but it is no reason to BAN you from cricket, i would have agreed with dropping him cause of form, his knee etc as blocker has excellently pointed in his article, but to shame the guy's legacy his character and ban him from his job now that's cruel to me and definitely worth the back lash its receiving not to mention the other areas of poor management and stuff.

I think the heart of the issue for me is to what extent KP was fired for calling out the management and captain on their absolutely terrible ideas and the terrible job they were doing.

I don't remember seeing anywhere where anyone blamed him for the results of the last year.

It was his attitude and ego along with an unlikable personality that got him practically sacked nearly everywhere he's been.

That's another myth though. He left Notts because he wanted to play under Shane Warne and he left Hampshire because he didn't want to commute from where he had bought a house in Surrey (plus he was barely playing for them anyway with his England commitments).

Nothing to do with the bit where he managed to get the captain so pissed off that he lobbed his kit bag off the changing room balcony...

and he left Hampshire because he didn't want to commute from where he had bought a house in Surrey (plus he was barely playing for them anyway with his England commitments).

And nothing to do with the fact that they refused to select him for both a one day final and T20 finals day. He was practically dropped from his county side.

I think it's fairly clear he's not a team player, he'd be excellent if cricket was a solo sport...

I think this whole thing hasn't really proven anything. If you like KP, you'll believe everything he says, if you're not such a big fan, you'll look for issues in it.

All this being our best player is grating on me a bit though. Our recent Test success has been down to the bowlers and KP has been no better than the likes of Trott or Cook in terms of performance. That's not to say that he wasn't a very good player on his day, because he was, but I don't think we're missing much by him not being in the team. On KP though, he's always had a pretty selfish attitude, since day one really. You just need to look at where he was willing to bat for that one. He refused to bat at 3 and even had Collingwood ahead of him in the 2006 Ashes, because he wanted to bat at 5. Kind of ironic that he's worked so hard to preserve his average all these years, that he keeps on begging to come back, which would only ruin it, judging on his form this year. :D

I doubt he really wants to come back though. He's making plenty of money out of this, plus he gets his face in the papers and on TV and that very much seems to be a priority for him the last few years.
