Young Welsh superstar signs for Leeds
Welsh youngster Rhys Williams has put pen to paper with League One side Leeds United just days after being placed in the Welsh national squad. The 18 year old has been touted as the Welsh version of Michael Owen, and will be keen to earn a regular starting spot in the Leeds first team.
Williams told the press that he was delighted to be part of the setup at Leeds and hoped he could help take them back to the Championship.
Lee Payne to try his luck at Leicester
League One side Leicester City have signed young English striker Lee Payne on a two-year contract worth ?2,300 per week. Lee Payne has won medals for the U18 England Indoor Athletics Championships in 100m and 200m sprint, but has finally fullfilled his aim of making it as a professional footballer.
Italian Serie B side Vicenza pick up Italian star
Vicenza have signed 18 year old Italian striker Troy Lerana on a three-year contract at ?2,200 per week. Italian scouts believe Lerana to have the potential to be one of the greatest strikers in the world, and so he will be hoping for a strong few seasons at Vicenza before being spotted by the bigger clubs.
