The Weakest link for England?

Maybe they should play Vikram Solanki purely for his agression and tell him to go all out against Warne and smash him around abit and hopefully put him off his game
Or let him fall for duck and play with 9 players instead...

No we didn't, Thorpe would have been a bad choice. He had already effectively announced his retirement so he shouldn't have been picked.
He was available for the series and clearly in England's best XI, planning for the future isn't a good idea against us...
Thorpe > Bell

Thorpe>Bell hands down.Bell has never played a test team in the top ten

Giles,he can't bowl with any flare,or even skill.
Man send an e-mail to vaughan saying 'Get collingwood in for Giles'.Lets see whether he(Collingwood) can win ashes for England this year.

One man can't win the Ashes...

Oh, and Graham Thorpe has retired. Ian Bell is the right choice.

He retired because he was dropped for the first test and was replaced by Bell. ( or KP?)

Bell ,KP are already in the team.
Suggest any other player who can take the place of Giles

Personally, I think the criticism of Giles is unjust. We all seem to be criticising Giles when he hasnt done anything wrong. He was picked to tie up one end while other bowlers try and get wickets and everyone expects him to bowl massive off breaks. If we're gonna take a shot at anyone its gotta be the selectors cause I think Giles has done the job required so far. The selectors need to know what they want from their spinner and pick the right man for job.

No one expects him to bowl offbreaks--he's a left arm orthodox bowler. And as for doing nothing wrong--he hasn't done anything right either. Why is he picked in the team if he is only used after 50-odd overs? He is a wasted resource--to beat the Australians you cannot keep them quiet--you gotta get them out.

No one Anticipated the pitch would suit the pace bowlers as much as it did. Warne got wickets cause he out thought the batsman. If you think Warne turned it alot at Lords all I can say is wait till Old Trafford. Also I'm not saying Giles is a good selection I'm just saying that if we're going to blame someone we should blame the selectors. Do England have any Leg Spinning talent at all?

They had a few, and lost them...

Giles...hmm...I think its Vaughan's fault. He tells him to bowl that way. He can sorta spin the ball, but needs a left arm seamer in the team to create some rough on the offstump(Right handed batsman). He also shouldn't bowl to batsman who are atticking. Maybe to a new man in or Martyn/Katich...

Comparing there are only TEN test teams that could be abit difficult.

Australia and New Zealand are top 5 test teams btw ;)
