Yeah, I know, but if you wanted to be a fast bowler, you needed more skill points than a medium pacer, so if a fast bowler and a medium pacer had the same stars, the fast bowler should've been rated better

That rating system was flawed. This is why we decided to go with the one we currently have.

You will get less stars if you wish to become a fast bowler. Similarly less stars to become an opener. It was a sacrifice of less stars to gain such a role.

Because fast bowlers get more wickets even if they get a little less skills. And openers get to bat a lot more than others even with a little less stars a lot of people were ready to make that sacrifice

Just in case some are wondering why The Royal Mavericks performed so well:
They (don't want to name the individual) found a loophole in the rating system that allowed their two star bowlers to be rated higher by making them Medium paced bowlers.
