That would most certainly depend on what contracts the player signed, you can't keep saying it because you like the IPL. I know for one thing had Hampshire got to the Champions league Dimi Mascarenhas' contract with the IPL stated he would play for Hampshire. So I think it's likely other players have similar contracts. Remember if a player was already under contract somewhere else then he was released by the club to play in IPL, I would have thought it only good business for the clubs to have retained some rights.

I dont blame you but everyone has this feeling that Indian loves T20 and IPL like fish loves water. Truth is 0% of Indian members here and 70% of real cricket lovers in India like Test cricket as much as everyone outside does. Also I cant see most countries even playing cricket in future and India will still be playing it till time immortal.

Just found out that Middlesex can't field Dexter or Carter in the champions league. To be honest the series is loosing all credibility in my eyes. IPL teams can field 8 overseas players but Middlesex can't even field their England players or any new signings???

That's stupid, don't care about Carter but Dexter could be crucial what with Strauss and Shah out. And 8 overseas players for IPL sides. It's hardly encouraging them to play their young Indians who would gain experience under pressure.

Yes, I could stomach Carter not being able to play as he's only on loan, but Dexter is now a Middlesex player.

I haven't checked but I take it that the Sialkot Stallions will be unchanged from when they last played T20 as well? Of course without their ICL players but without any replacements.

It's pointless really. It's being geared for an IPL team to win, just so the guys at the BCCI can turn around and tell us how good their series is so that everyone should play in it.

Where did you get that piece of info from ? Even in the IPL,teams were only allowed 4 overseas players in the side.
