I just found this quote from an unamed cricket journalist who said it before the first Twenty20 game at the Oval.

"It's bull****. People won't come for these gimmicks."

Australian Ian Harvey got the first ever century in the Twenty20 cup today for Gloucestershire. He scored 100 of just 50 balls

Hmmm... yeah interest in this format seems to be picking up . I would think someone like Afridi would be tailor made for such a format

Afridi would be great in this format. Even as a bowler, because the top bowlers seem to be spinners, which no-one expected.

I'd actually like to see the Champions Trophy as a Twenty20 format, could be interesting.

Anyway, here's the semi-finals draw.

Surrey v Gloucestershire
Leicestershire v Warwickshire

On an interesting note, in Lancashire's final Twenty20 game, they gave a first team debut to Gregor Maiden.

Maiden also plays for the Scottish national team, meaning that this season he has played both for and against Lancashire
