VB Series 2006

Gilchrist out for two matches. :( From the other side this is somehow good news. He can't get any more ducks then.

I hope Martyn opens. I want to see how he does there. Or maybe they even could try Lee.

He is not that bad with the bat. He is making useful runs down the order. When they face Bangladesh or so, they could try him at number 3 or 4. But It hink Australia will start with Martyn.

Disappointing match for me. Vaas got two wickets, but Atapattu and Sangakkara made runs. Gibbs failed with the bat and Muralitharan got wickets too. And Kalllis didn't even play.

Just found out why Kallis didn't play. :mad

Kallis elbow flares up again

Now I left with nine men.

I'm in the same boat, my players did nothing. Thank God I stacked with Australians :D I think most of us choose the wrong keeper though. Boucher has been the form players and Sangakkara was top scorer today.

You can take your time.

I was thinking after the last Test Gilchrist has finally got his form back, but I guess not. Boucher is playing the way I used to like him. Finally Sangakkara is coming back to form also. But Sri Lanka needs to have stable openers.

I choose Sangakkara cause he is the most stable of three and might actually top score in this series.

i also dont thing lee can open. he was a one time wonder in the last game.

Rubbish Brett Lee is more than capable with the bat.

He's not a one time wonder, he's made about 10 50's in his cricketing career in all forms iirc.

i see 2 50s in 119 ODI matches, that doesnt show any opening quality in my opinion. his last 50 was good and very important for australia, but this doesnt mean he has the ability for an opener at all.

Actually yeah, Lee can bat well but not an Opening material like our Irfan PAthan. One needs a sound technique and be able to play all shots. Lee struggles against short-balls.

Do you mean you wish you choose him as he isn't in your team either ;)
One positive for you guys with Kallis is he can't get you more negative points :D

Man Kallis has really been a burden on my team, I did'nt have him in the tests and now when I had him, all he did is give me some negative points and get injured again.

Lucky for me I went for Hall in the bowling thus needing Pollock in the all rounders. Then going for Smith and a SL batter. :) All working out thus far but this is a long series so we may all be down to 9 players due to injury and bad form.
