i see 2 50s in 119 ODI matches, that doesnt show any opening quality in my opinion. his last 50 was good and very important for australia, but this doesnt mean he has the ability for an opener at all.

I said in his cricketing career not his ODI career.

Anyway i think the lads were being sarcastic about the Aussies openers poor form

Katich out means some guys at the top that have him will miss out. I don't think any have Dorey but Bracken and Clark are out who some have.
Martyn opening too but a lot have him as a bonus or captain so its a tricky situation where I don't want him performing too well. Clarke doing well and Symonds will help my cause.
