I dont think Anwar's record will be broken for a looooooong time...... I watched the match when Anwar scored 194 and he seemed like he was hitting fours on every ball he played.
It was tough luck for Gilly though... he was playing beatifully. :
Well Gichrist isnt always consistent. If he played like this every match, he could easily break Anwar's record. But i hope he doesnt. Let the record stay in asia!
Man. this is some really pathetic batting from Zimbabwe. I thought that the top order might at least wake up today! wow. just pathetic. I think they gave up even before ponting got out batting. This is really bad. And theonly man to say that Zimbabwe willshow agression, is infact the only one consistently scoring. That will be Heath Streak himself. Maybe he can salvage some pride for Zim perhaps?
Another flogging handed out by the Aussies bring on india the Aussies need some competition.Good on ya Streak and Taibu the only ones that can hold there heads up when it comes to batting.

Heath Streak's is a champion!!! In his last 11 ODI matches for Zimbabwe he's scored 5 fifties (career total of 12 fifties), has been easily their best bowler and is the captain! If you want a player with a big heart and 100% effort and attitude I'd choose him.
Zimbabwe as a team can actually play competitive cricket! they won two matches in the five game ODI series against West Indies and in the two test series were one wicket away from winning the first match (ended in a draw) and the second test were set 233 to win, and they collapsed to be all out for 104.
BTW Great batting by Gilchrist, he managed 50% of their score as well!
I would much rather have an asian keep the record than an aussies break it. I think they should just break team records and not individual ones. Plus the funny thing is that I lived in madras, but really got into cricket only 2 years later!! Cant believe wat i was waiting for until then!
Even though I am an Indian, I have to admit that an Aussie has a better chance of breaking Anwar's record. Unless, Sachin Tendulkar comes up with an amazing knock.
Its so boring. To see that Streak and a couple of tailenders bat better than the tope 5 is really boring. They really need to do something and save their team.
