thats unfortunate that new zealand couldnt work around astle and mcmillan. it looks like someone in the top order has to produce the goods so the middle order can launch themselves. perhaps astle and flemming should go back to opening? utilise their experience at the top of the order

India set to begin their run chase
The 2nd Innings is about to start as India attempt to chase a target of 262 to win this match. Virender Sehwag and Saurav Ganguly are the two batsman opening for India today, while Shane Bond is going to open the bowling for New Zealand.

India needs 262 runs to win from 50 Overs at 5.24 runs per over

Sehwag blasts off

Steps out of the crease and cracks that one to the fence for his third four of the match. Sehwag has started aggressively for India, hitting Daryl Tuffey for three fours so far.

Tuffey has the last laugh

Daryl Tuffey won the mini battle between himself and Virender Sehwag, after the aggressive Indian opener had hit him for three boundaries. But Tuff came back well with a slower ball which deceived an over-aggressive Sehwag who stepped out, missed the ball, and was bowled.

India FOW 15-1
Virender Sehwag b Daryl Tuffey 14(12)

Next Batsman - VVS Laxman
VVS Laxman who has been in good form in the domestic matches in India, needs to get a big score here.

Maybe if a lineup editor is released, that can happen. Until then its all in the hands of the CPU.

the computers an indiot hahaha. im tipping india in this one still but one of the top 4 will have to go onto a big score because im not sure that india have enough deapth

Boundaries

Both VVS Laxman and Saurav Ganguly have picked up their first boundaries. Laxman with a nicely time glance down leg side that raced to the fence, while Ganguly's one was a much more hard hit square cut.
With Sehwag out early, a lot of pressure will now be on these two experienced guys.

India are currently 28-1 after 5 overs

The name is Bond, Shane Bond
Shane Bond produced a fantastic inswinging delivery that had VVS Laxman trapped plum in front of middle stump. The umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger.

So India lose their second wicket with the score at 46, as Laxman heads back the pavillion having scored 17 runs, with just one four.

India FOW 46-2
VVS Laxman lbw b Shane Bond 17(21)

Next Batsman - Rahul Dravid
Next up is the Indian captain and the 2004 World player of the year winner, Rahul Dravid.

Ganguly departs

Kiwi left arm spinner Daniel Vettori has struck in his very first over, getting rid of Saurav Ganguly. Ganguly in an attempt to cut a ball that wasnt really that far outside offstump, managed only to underedge it straight to his off stump. Too optimistic really from Ganguly to go for the cut shot without having too much room to play it. But a good start no doubt for Vettori.

India now are in some trouble, as they lose their third wicket with the score at 48.

India FOW 48-3
Saurav Ganguly b Daniel Vettori 15(21)

Next Batsman - Yuvraj Singh
The flambouyant strokemaker, Yuvraj Singh is the next man in for India. India need a partnership between these two, and another wicket at this stage will be disaster.

Well, NZL 4th wicket partnership was of 75 odd. Maybe India can do the same.

Good Luck and great presentation.

Yup if Yuvraj and Dravid can do the same, it'll do India a whole lot of good. At the moment, they are struggling at 48-3 after 10 overs.

lets see if they can do as they did in natwest final against ENG:)
