Watching County Cricket in the UK

I dont think it does lack big players. It does however lack big English players. Centrally contracted players hardly ever turn out for their counties now but the foreign players manage it. I think the ECB need to release players a bit more often to attract crowds to the county game.

Me too, I can't understand why Lewis wasn't allowed out for the 20-20 on Monday.

At the moment though you can understand them being careful over injuries.

One thing I hate is when counties bring in overseas players who have never played for their country or are what I would class as anything above average.

Paul Harris (I think he's a Kiwi and is Warks 2nd overseas player).

I'm not sure thats such a big issue. Tyron Henderson came to Kent as a replacement for Justin Kemp for the second half of this season having never played for South Africa (He has played for South Africa A though) He was however pro20 player of the year and has done very well for Kent so far (Although I havent seen a big innings from him yet).

Not so much now, as replacements can be picked, but can you not see how that is a clever thing for a county to practise? It means they get a relatively cheap cricketer for the whole year, rather than paying Justin Langer for something like 3 games, before he goes home.

Justin Langer scored 300; worth every penny in my view.

Yes he scored 300, but it was only in drawing a game. I'd much rather have someone averaging 50 or so who wins us games.

That's true, but I got the feeling that you were saying Langer was a waste of money.

So far Ive been to

2 County Championship games
1 C&G
3 Twenty/20
I've got tickets for 4 Pro 40

I love the Lanky

Well, I'm a member at Sussex and now it's the holidays I've been to a couple of games and am going to one tomorrow.

I have also got tickets for the C&G final at Lords.

i go to kent regularly and im going tomorrow in the championship game vs hampshire to watch geriant jones and shane warne

I would but since its a 24hr plane trip plus however many hours it takes to get to Hove i believe it wouldv'e either A i wont have the money (for either) B the match wouldv'e finished or C all of the above

i'd love to go, getting to old trafford for lancs matches is tough, and i wouldnt have anyone to go with really,i do have one mate who like cricket but he has a personal hygene (sp) problem and wouldnt like being sat next to him for a whole day

when lancs play in liverpool, its only down the road from my school, but the one county match played there so far this season i just happened to be on work experience, the other side of liverpool, finishing to late to catch the few hours

but i really want to go

I'm a member at yorkshire and i rarely go to championship games but go to most one day games, twenty20, c&g, pro40 etc. and i've been twice to away games this season, durham + hants

i also watch most games that are on sky sports

I go as much as i can, im lucky and i have a Laptop so for CC i dont get too bored when the game isnt going well.......But when i start Collage in September it will be hard to get down to Lancashire.

Are you a county member or do you just go to a few matches? I'm a member at a mere 60 quid for sussex if you are a student its tremendous value, it means i can pop down anytime i want.

Do you go to one day games but not championship?
Ive been to about 5 championship games but many of those ive seen a few days. It always better when your team is winning

Does price put you off or something else?
The price is a bargain. I love the way you can just go down anytime and not be put off by price.
