Collins has been the star so far along with Powell with the ball as he has done a great job not only did he bowled tightly but also got the important wkt of cairns at the right time.
Tony Cozier: Well atlast something to cheer about for WI after a long time and u can see them being very happy there. Excellent performance today by the WI bowlers after their batsmen finished their great job.
Martin Crowe: Well finr effort from the home side, happy to see them finding their way up in this tour after that disastorous Test series.
Tony Cozier: Well here is what happened in NZ innings.
Bob Willis:Welcome everybody for this Digicel Presentation Ceremony, First of all i welcome Fleming to have a few words with us. Bad luck stephen.
Fleming:Well to be honest it was poor peformance by us, the last 10 overs of their innings sealed match against us, no coming back from it, hope we recover well and put a good show at jamaica.
Chanderpaul: Ya really very happy to have my first victory as captain and really it was a great effort by evrybody to put such great show and make a challenging total was indeed the stepping point for our victory.
Bob Willis: Well the MOM of simple and the decision made by Match refree is Ridley Jacobs for that manificant 50 at end overs.
DIGICEL MOM - Ridley Jacobs. Ridley Jacobs in action during his innings of 58*
Fleming didnt sound that confident in the post match press conference and really was a bit low in his teams performance in the previous match and really NZ have to look to forget this performance as quickly as possible and dont really dwell on this for a long time.
Next ODI is yo be played at Jamaica using latest Boss patch
Fleming looking very sad during the post match press conference.
Ya!, very nice effort from windies to come back in the series, and the series is wide open. More nail biting matches to come, i hope. Tremendous work buddy.
Well this is the venue for the upcoming 3rd odi between WI and NZ and this will be a cracker.
Sabina Park
Kingston, Jamaica
End names Blue Mountains End, Headley Stand End
Home team(s) Jamaica
Sabina Park, is home to the Kingston Cricket Club, and also the Test Match ground in Jamaica. Located in the capital Kingston, it is set in the driest part of the capital, which is itself in a rain shadow. Nonetheless, cricket, as usual brings rain to these dry parts Made famous as a fast bouncy track in the 70's, (with the Indians of 76 in particular feeling the wrath of local hero Michael Hold- ing), the pitch in recent years has been slower, with low and variable bounce at times. Several attempts have been made to re- lay the pitch with no discernible improvement.
The ground is set among a mix of offices, and houses. The George Headley stand which dominates the south end, and the ground, holds 8,000. Going eastwards, you meet the "grounds" section. Uncovered and populated by the "true cricket fans", as opposed to those who can afford the George Headley stand, this is the equivalent of Bay 13, or the Rude Boy stand in Antigua. Hisses and boos of disapproval are likely to begin here, and any non- performing player will feel the wrath of their tongue. Definitely a lively place, copious consumption of the local beer, Red Stripe, adds a lively and friendly atmosphere (the concept of drunk and disorderly does not appear at matches). This is where the vendors of cooked food and other delights are most likely to be found plying their trade.
The north end of the ground is dominated by a huge scoreboard, and also the outside broadcast facilities The members pavilion lies square of the wicket on the west side. A charming old wooden building, it still remains one of the places to be seen at a cricket match, despite the poor location (who wants to watch cricket from midwicket/cover? Aside, no member (they're all male) is allowed to say a ladies name in the club, or else he buys drinks for everyone there.
This has its roots in a dispute, where a man mentioned a woman's name as having a liason with her. Unfortunately for him, her husband was right behind him, and re-arranged various bits of furniture around his body.
The spectacular Blue Mountains, (home of the world famous Blue Mountain coffee) form a picturesque and spectacular backdrop to the north facing the George Headly stand, with Kingston Harbour to the south.
In terms of size, Sabina Park is relatively small. It can fit a 400 metre running track comfortably on it's perimeter, but that's about it, and capacity estimates range from 12 - 15,000 depen- dingon who you talk to.
Sabina Park's greatest moment in Test cricket must be the 365 not out by Garfield Sobers against the Pakistanis that stood for many years as the highest individual test score. Conversely its worst moment was when the England - West Indies Test in 1999 was abandoned on the opening day due to an appalling pitch endangering the players.
