Pakistan maintaining a very healthy run rate.. Windies did well though to grab those 6 wickets. If they manage to get them all out for < 350, Windies have done a good job
Thanks guys for the comments - it's what makes me do stories, half for the enjoyment of playing the game and the other is making the story and getting great comments. Cheers guys!
Well the final session of play was always going to be important on this first day - and Pakistan did well to keep their heads screwed on - while piling on the runs and finishing the day at 7-390. Younis Khan stayed there to the end with only the tail to come. He was absolutely fantastic in scoring 146 from 200 balls. Whilst Razzaq proved his greatest partner scoring 73.
The session wasnt as good for the Windies as they let chances go by and didn't claim the danger man Khan. They will be hoping they can clean up the tail tomorrow morning so they can get out there and give themselves a chance of building a big score also.

So at the end of the days play, the match is evenly poised. But you would say Pakistan would be happy with where they are after todays disastrous start of 4-133. Of course the West Indies would have liked to have claimed Younis Khan before the close of play - they will hope to get him early tomorrow. The West Indies pace attack has worked well today, with part-timers chipping in with some overs and even claiming a wicket. Stay tuned for the next days play....Will Pakistan push on to 400? Will the West Indies crumble on a pitch that isn't playing too well?
The run spree comes to an end - Khan stands tall with 152*
Well, the 10th wicket finally fell, and let me tell you - there were some happy West Indians out there. The batsman to go were Akhtar, Gul and Kaneria - all to Chris Gayle who came on early in the day to replace Fidel Edwards. But the man that really held this innings together and played his heart out for his country was indeed Younis Khan, with a majestic 152.
So in the end the Pakistanis can be satisfied with where they are considering their poor start in the first session of yesterday's play. With a total of 415 on the board they can now afford to be aggressive with their bowling and captain Inzy will no doubt be looking to his spearheads for an early breakthrough, seeing that the ball should move around a bit and hit some of those cracks we saw on the first day's pitch report.
Ramdin holds on to a great catch
The fielders walk off the pitch after over 90 overs in the field
Stay tuned for the West Indies innings coming soon - update after this first session....
