What attributes should be taken into account?

Having found cricket games relatively easy since Shane Warne/Brian Lara 99 its interesting to note that different games have used different attributes to have control over each individual players chance when batting, bowling and fielding. for mind, ac09 lacks hugely in this area with hardly any attributes to change. so heres my list of what attributes should be taken into account:

Batting:
  • Aproach (ie defensive/moderate/aggressive - could be out of 100 like others) - basically only used to help AI calculate how each player should play
  • Timing - should be implemented like AC09 where it determines where on the bat it hits.
  • Shot placement (Both timing and shot placement could be broken down for each type of shot so you would set defensive timing, placement, attacking timing, placement etc)
  • Shot you are good at (pick 1 or 2) - makes timing area slightly larger and shot placement slightly smaller
  • Shot you are bad at (1 or 2) - opposite to strong shots

Bowling:
  • Type of bowler (obviously)
  • Speed - could be broken down into max, average and slower ball or flighted ball for spinner
  • Accuracy line - controls how accurate (in terms of line) the bowler is
  • Accuracy length - controls as the name says. (Because accuracy is broken into line and length, the aiming reticule would be an oval)
  • Swing
  • Seam
  • Special balls - doosra/effort ball/wrong un/slower ball - whether they are available and by how much do they spin/speed up/slow down etc
  • Pickable (not a good term) - but a measure of how easy the batsman finds it to pick where the ball is going and directly affects how early the bowlers marker appears (when you're batting)

Fielding:
  • Throwing power
  • Throwing accuracy
  • Catching - should be broken down into at least infield and outfield but would be better broken down into areas in the field - ie. slips, offside infield, onside infield, outfield, batpad or short positions
  • Speed - should control all running speeds (so players in the field and batsmen)
  • Diving - chance the player will dive and catch or stop the ball

Like to see people add what they think or say what they reckon should be removed
