Your Cricket What cricket bat do you use?

Do you guys choose your bats cause of the name and good things you heard about it or do you use it due to the position of its sweet spot and where you usually make contact with a ball?

I choose the bat I feel right to bat with. Weight and handle. That said, if there are two bats suitable to my preferences, I'll choose that of a famous brand over a plain bat. :D

My question is though, how do you take care of your bat during the off season? do you simply lock it away in the cupboard until the new season comes around again?

Nike was the latest bat owned by me with which I scored my first half century in just 37 balls

Finally I Replace My Bat. Now Got Slazenger v600 ;) Also Got Some Runs in Today's T20 i.e. 37* From 23 Balls
I Got Exactly This One :)
But Changes The Grip To Black.

Though i have noticed parallel cracks on the back of the bat running down either side of the handle. Is my bat on the way out?

Maybe, that happened with my old bat so you might want to take it to a shop where an expert can look at it.

Bit late here, but most of the time if it's cracking around the handle there's not much that can be done. Can be caused simply by the amount of use, a too dry bat or an ill fitting handle (however that will be near impossible to tell and you'd never get a manufacturer to admit it therefore).
