Your Cricket What does a bow on a cricket bat do

Well guys in a year or two depending on how fast i grow im going to buy a custom made bat. One of the options is traditional shape (no bow) Slight bow or large bow. So my question is what does a bow do eg increase power or decrease power. Also it says handle shape traditional or oval i thought all handles were oval, whats traditional? Thanks

you mean the curve on teh bat well you dont need to hit it that hard if it has a good curve timing is the key

this is what i think if u have good curve on the bat its good cuz u dont need to hit it hard and the timing will be good as well plus it will have a great middle and good sound

Its mostly for subcontinent playing. Just adds control to your dribes so you dont get caught at short cocer and short mid wicket,
