that makes you feel as if you've actually done something with your life?

Obviously I'm going through a mid-life crisis 23 years early and I should be enjoying these teenage years while they last but it suddenly struck that while some people are playing sports professionally at a young age or getting jobs, I'm yet to really do anything. Now, this little burst of depression will probably have passed by the time (there it is) I finish this sentence but it's a question that intrigued me.

You are not alone buddy!! It's the same here, 24 yrs old and still nothing to justify my existence!! Anyways, I don't think it's a crisis! It's about finding out more about yourself and this world. Whence you are out of it, you'll know a lot more about yourself, things you couldn't have found out any other way!

Lol, I'm already past it. If I'm 40 with no qualifications and a dead-end job, then I'll ponder my life choices.

:)

I want to play for UAE-19 eventually. If not them, then county cricket some time soon. And if not that, then represent Hong Kong. If not that, then represet UAE. If not that, then atleast play domestic cricket successfully in UAE...

But I know how you feel. Piyush Chawla is a legspinner two years older than me, and he's played test cricket! Kids around the world have mastered musical instruments, saved lives and have gotten brilliant grades. What have I done?

I wont feel accomplished until I see Stgeorge win a comp :p

I used to have dreams of being a cricketer but now I'm past them. I've played in the C's for the last 3 years!! :p

I want to concentrate on gfx and stuff. I'm not very good at that atm but I have a lot more time to work on that then cricket.

Here are mine:

Passed my GCSE'S
Got Into College
Got a Job
Joining the police in January (If I get in)

I've had jobs, i've had football trials, I dabbled in cricket a little bit, i've had girlfriends, i've had parties, i've had holidays with mates, I kicked arse in the GCSE's and i'm about to find out that i've kicked arse in my AS levels when the results come through. I honestly don't think I could have done anything more in my life so far.

I can retire from my job and still have enough to spend even I dont do anything for next 0 years. What happens after that is issue.

I find out my AS Levels soon as well :)

Well I've gotta say i've accomplished in life thus far because i've got a smile on my face most of the time!

I've got a family who care, a girlfriend whos always there, mates who we can still act like kids at 18, and i play cricket, and rugby. Coach, and can play 3 (nearly 4) musical instruments.

But my look out on life is that i've always got to be doing something new, something which i can learn. I can't sit and just do nothing, i've always gotta be doing something! Thats why i'm generally happy.

I've not mentioned educational achievements, because to me they're the neccesary for me to be happy, my accomplishments are things which are done for me, and done to make me happy. Obviously that goes for the same as making friends/family happy.

Some people go through life without being noticed. Without wanting to be noticed. For me, thats not the way. Whatever I do, i wan't to be noticed! I want to go through life with people remembering me. And i do this by aiming to be the best, at playing sport, instruments and being better than Marc White (Marco Pierre White, thats his name isnt it?) ;)

Why you guys are starting to worry when you have have not even lived 1/4th of your life.

This is an interesting thread. I think it's good to have high standards but people shouldn't feel like failures just because they haven't become a professional sports star by the time they're 18. There are an awful lot of worthwhile things in life that don't get as much public exposure but can give as much or even more personal fulfilment.
What I'd say is that if you feel you haven't accomplished anything recently then learn a new skill, go somewhere, get down your local volunteer centre and find something that suits you. It is possible to get into a comfortable groove and feel like you can't escape it but it's important to keep sight of the fact that genuine accomplishment and achievement comes in many forms and shouldn't be judged purely against a "why aren't I rich and famous?" standard.

Well Don't think what have you done, rather plan what you are going to do or what you want to do ?
Sports are just good by every reason but you can't make it as your career until you have something special in yourself to show the world 'why its only you ?'
Other thing is that fun is always good as we all live to enjoy life, but, you must make your mind determined to do something, something for yourself, something for your community around you.
Just Keep positive attitude towards life and grab every opportunities you meet.
Personally it would make you so happy when you would stand on your own legs. Last time I asked my parents for money when I was 14 years old. I have done all the fun but only after making sure that I will be able to help my self, my family, my country and my community and our beautiful world one day.

Hope It sounds better.Anyway my previous post was not full of mistakes and next time please write your name when you rep someone.
