Now, there's a question.

What, in your opinion, makes Australia produce generation after generation of brilliant strokemakers, brilliant grinders, athletic keepers, agressive hitters, 150kph bowlers, the most accurate medium pacers and the spinners with the most guile?

Australia has a minute population compared to a place like India but does a superior domestic system make up for it? Are players groomed for success through good coaching from a young age or are they merely good to start with through some complex cricket gene pool?

You could say that Aussies are natural atheletes but so are South Africa and South Africa have never dominated the world. West Indies have fantastic atheletes too and they are certainly not world beaters currently.

I'd like to hear some opinions on this interesting topic.

Natural talent mostly.

Also the attitude of refusing to lose and fearlessness. I reckon India are growing into that attitude with the youngsters, never say die. The hatred for failure and losing makes them special.

But it's not about us, it's about the Aussies.

Oh sorry, I thought you were just referring to the senior side that has been so dominant.

My good guess would be that it was just a golden generation?

Yes. I am but if it were natural, surely it would progress through age groups too.

It was not a golden generation, they have been in the top three in the world for the last 50 or so years.

That's what I mean, they have been dominant and now that generation is ending as we head towards the future?

Complex stuff, good topic.

its a bit like the west indies..with their fierce teams years ago...aussies will have a dip in form.

Infrastructure, perhaps? Great coaching facilities and Academies all over there down under.

When I lived in Sydney back about 8 years ago, I realized at a very young age that Australians loved sports, and anything that challenged their physique.

Will post later, mom bugging me :p

The ACB works very differently to the WICB.

The WICB relied heavily on natural talent during the Windies domineering era while the ACB have a much better infrastructure, with academies and a very good Domestic competition.

An Aussie decline is a lot less likely

Because Australian's are naturally better than everyone at everything.

True fact. If you go to Australia for a holiday, everyone you look at is better than you at everything imaginable.

And yes, that includes what you are thinking about you dirty little boys.

Well said. That basically sums it up.

Other then that we have had a great number of youngsters come up over the years and actually play to their full potential thanks to successful academies and coaching. With things going like they are, this era of Australian Champions could go on for quite some time, much longer then the West Indies dominance.

You say our under 19s has no talent but they had Moises Henriques who captained opened the bowling and batted at 3 and was the best player at that World Cup.

Australia get the most out of their players because they always have tough compition in the State Sides due to the small amount of teams, even McGrath came back from injury to club cricket and got belted.
