What's your favourite Movies/films and why

I hate gladiator.

I don't like films that much. Lock stock is good like Matt said. Scarface too, if it wasn't for that film Vice City wouldn't have been so awesome :D

I love the soundtracks of Lawence of arabia and The message
I think if a Movie must have good soundtrack

Not a great Movie buff.. Here's my favourite list (as far as I can remember)

* The Shawshank Redemption - See it to believe it. Engrossing to say the least.
* Vertical Limit - Brilliantly Made movie
* The Hills have Eyes - Gross!! Thriller, but not for the weak hearted
* Braveheart - Mel Gibson was exceptional, it showed the real beauty of Scotland. (Girls included :p)
* Baghban - Not many would like this film, but the acting was superb. Emotionally touching.
* Jurassic Park - What can i say.. I was a little kid at that time, and like everyone else, was terrified at the thought of dinosaurs :p
* American Pie Beta House - for obvious reasons :D
* Eurotrip - --do-- ;)
* Munnabhai Mbbs / Lage rahe Munnabhai - Top comedies

Cant remember any more. If I have to think, means they aren't that favourite ;)

Schindler's List - a fantastic movie that doesn't have to rely on special effects or any kind of ridiculous plot and it has some superb acting in it. Shooting it in black and white was a masterstroke.

Others:

Star Wars (Classic Trilogy + Revenge of the Sith)
Lord of The Rings.

English:

Die Hard Series (Except the last one)

Great thriller... My first intro to Hollywood cinema! Bruce kicked ass really well.

Independence Day

Great sci-fi. Taken in gigantic proportions with minimal distractions.

Bone Collector

Another thriller... Its my favorite genre! Also Jolie was hot enough to keep me attracted

Gone in 60 Seconds
Taken

Both above are again thrillers that kept me at the edge of my seat!

Hindi:

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

All time favorite! Dont know how many times I have watched it. Raj-Simran are the etched characters in my life.

Lagaan

Another classic! I initially watched the first 10-15 mins of this movie for about 5-6 times and threw it away because it was so boring. But the 7th time, I forced myself to watch it and I repented having wasted the previous 6 times for such a great film. The cricket in the end was awesome even though we knew the result.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Just like DDLG. It was part of my growth from kid to adult and I wont forget it. SRK-Kajol is the best pair of Indian cinema.

Taare Zameen Par

A very touching film that makes you cry. The kid acted brilliantly, and Aamir surprised people with his film making skills (apart from the refreshing appearence in the film).

Rang De Basanti

Another all time classic. The bonding between the friends was shown so well and always kept you attracted. The ending was revolutionary though it was met with mixed feelings.

I have some in Tamil and Telugu as well, but it will just get too long... Thats it for now!

Eagle Eyes - its just bad ass

Hangover, Superbad, > funniest movie

Shawshank Redemption
Independence Day
Lock Stock
Atonement
Death at a Funeral

ID4 was an amazing film, it is definitely one to be seen in the cinema at least once (if you didn't see it first time round and any cinemas are doing special screenings, don't hesitate) and is so full of holes regarding reality, you could drive a truck through it. My favourite example was at the end when Hiller and Levison are escaping from the Mothership. They leap into their seats, and off they go, pulling Gs aplenty - yet, not a seatbelt in sight! Still, sometimes you have to compromise with these aspects in action movies - like in Commando, when Arnie is taking down a whole army of Guerilla fighters, when any one of them, if they just knelt down and aimed, could put him down in a second.

Don't really watch that many movies, but these are some of my favourites:

*American Pie (All of them, they are all hilarious, with good visual pleasure as well)
*Team America (Amazingly funny, you just never get sick of it)
*Star Wars (Prefer the last, but they're all good)
*Lord of The Rings (Everyone but the third, which was the last one made)
*Pirates Of The Caribbean (First one was by far the best, other two were still good)
*Gladiator (Just loved it, great story line and plot)

Pretty much all teenage comedy stuff, some action and adventure as well.
