i voted Windows 98SE coz it seems to have the least bugs out of every OS up there that i know of
And also you cant just have one linux as there are heaps of Linux OS's
I recently loaded Windows XP Professional Edition and I dont have any hardware compatibility problems with it ... actually, i dont have any problems with it. And it is definitely better than Windows XP Home Edition .... much more stable than Home.
i think windows se was the best i had that..no probs...regretbally i have xp now...cant uninstall it or me parents will get mad i wasted money ..lol

I dont know about u guys, but Win 98SE sucks for me. It constantly freezes and I always have to restart. Plus, my comp is kinda old.
P3 500 Mhz. I did upgrade myt RAM from 64 mb to 320 mb but still, it sucks. Cant wait to get a new comp.
Hey Nikhil definitely Xp is the best Os.I had ME(originally installed)but I crashed it thrice and I froze constantly.
Xp is way ahead of others.I think u have a very poor system specifications and XP may actually slow down your computer. This is because Xp comes with a lot of preinstalled features(they can be disabled). For XP it is ecomended that u have 256MB Ram.
Some of the older games meant to be run on 98 or older versions may have problems running(even in compatibility mode).
As far as hardware is concerned I have not experienced any problems. All I had to do was to download a new driver for he Vd card.
While installing it will give u a warning that it has not passed the certification test if it's less than 16 MB.
But I really love it's appearence(I use Windows Blinds Shareware) and that's why I got it.
Get Pro it's more stable.
