CAN THEY WIN THE PREMIERSHIP AGAIN?

Their first match of the season are against last year's grand finalists, The North Queensland Cowboys.

In other matches over the weekend:

Roosters 30 def Raiders 10
Warriors 16 def Sea Eagles 12

The Cowboys Lineup:

The Bulldogs Lineup:

The Cowboys are on the field and are warming up for this ripper of a match, its raining and the Bulldogs can play pretty well in the rain, so the Dogs are tipped to win the match.

The match length is 20 minutes, so the first half is 10 minutes.

9th Minute:
Sherwin kicks off, Dog's players running towards catcher, bad pass and bad communication, El Masri intercepts and gets tackled 10 m out from the line, Holdsworth passes to Williams and then to O'Meley who runs into a huge gap and scores the try. El Masri converts (1 out of 1).

Cowboys 0 - 6 Bulldogs

7th Minute:
Williams tackles Cowboy into touch, Sherwin feeds scrum 20 m out, bursts out of scrum half, dodges few players breaks a tackle and scores. El Masri converts again (2 out of 2).

Cowboys 0 - 12 Bulldogs

resizewizard2pz0.png

4th Minute:
Dogs get penalty for being offside 10 m out of their own try line, third tackle for Cowboys, Thurston (I think) throws a dummy and dives to the try line and scores. Hannay converts (1 out 1).

Cowboys 6 - 18 Bulldogs

And then on the stroke of half-time, a Cowboy kicked on the 4th tackle and Utai caught it in the Dog's 20 m, he ran on the left side and amazingly broke all 3 tackles and ran across the field to score. El Masri converts (4 out of 4).

The Dogs have really dominated this half even when trailing in possesion, but the Cowboys were absolutely appaling with 41 missed tackles, their coach is gonna be fuming in the dressing room.

resizewizard1uo2.png

2nd Minute:
Sherwin sprinted out from dummy half, just broke through and did a wicked sidestep then just jumped through to score right under the posts. El Masri converts (6 out of 6).

Cowboys 6 - 36 Bulldogs

And in the last few seconds of the match, Bowen scored a drop goal 20 m out from the Dog's line to get 1 extra point to his name. And thats the game, Bulldogs have thrashed last years grand finalists, 7-36 with a margin of a whooping 19 points, only if they were bonus points.

Stay tuned, match stats are coming right up.

The Cowboys have played incredibly badly today, just look at the stats, but on the bright side, the Bulldogs have won and have made a great start to their Premiership campaign. The Dogs are playing the Dragons next week and after this performance, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Now the Man of the Match is Daniel Holdsworth, he has played really well with 7 hit ups and gained a total of 70 metres.

4th Minute:
After countless attempts to score, the Dogs have finally done with a mistake from a Dragon. Sherwin passed it to O'Meley who just ran right through the defence and scored. El Masri converts (1 out of 1).

resizewizard3vn5.png

Bulldogs 6 - 0 Dragons

2nd Minute:
Just to seal the lead before half-time, Asotasi scored a field goal from 12 m out on the last tackle of the set.

Bulldogs 7 - 0 Dragons

Half-Time stats:

Even though this has been a very tight first half, the stats certainly favour the home side, anything can happen in the next half.

6th Minute:
Good build up to try with offloads and quick passes which left the Dragons defence for dead. 1 m out, short flat pass to Maitua? and he just dives into the crater of a gap. El Masri converts easily (2 out of 2).

Bulldogs 13 - 0 Dragons
