Who really is a star player? - question on star player definition

What are the special features of a star player? It seems strange because for India, Rahul Dravid plays much better compared to the * player tendulkar. Similarly Mahanama for Sri Lanka, Gilchrist for Australia.

white start players wear glasses ... thats the only difference I can see.

When u dont select the captain in the XI , then the star player captains the side.So just select only one star player-the vice captain.(eg)Select only Gilchrist as star playe for Aussies and drop S.Waugh and u'll see Gilly is skipperring the Ozzies.
