Seeing how popular iDevice (iPhones, iPods etc.) have become over the last year, with the inclusion of the AppStore and iTunes directly on the iDevice, it got me a-thinking!

We've got all these people on the forum who are capable of making things like TAOC, and the foundations of a simulator for Cricsim, is there anyone with the knowledge to make a PlanetCricket application.

Now the beauty of this is that, there's lots of different apps for cricket, most of the giving latest news etc, some games, but none which direct you to a fully functioning working forum.

It could have everything the forum has, just optimized onto a iDevice for easier surfing, plus, and this is the major positive for PlanetCricket, it means really really easy advertising, someone types cricket into the AppStore, and you get the Planet Cricket application, people are gunna wander into it and try it out, especially around this Codies release etc.

Just a thought from a bias iDevice user :p

You need to have someone who has access to a Mac and knows how to program in Objective C. That's the most straightforward part. You also have to jump through some hoops to get a Apple developer key (or something to that effect) and when you finally want to publish it to the AppStore, there are several more hoops to jump through.

I know I'm not volunteering. :)

They don't have to pay fees, else it'd be a risky market to go into.

I don't think a fee would be the biggest problem with getting something like that done.
